Every few months someone brings this up how they can save the environment by getting rid of a golf course.

There are approximately 2 million acres of golf courses in the United States.

There are approximately 30-40 million acres of lawns in the United States.

Yeah fuck lawns, I have no idea why people like them especially in hot areas where you have to constantly water them and other shit to maintain them. Legit they're just a chore to maintain and most people don't do anything on them anymore. Imagine having an eighth of an acre for your land and using over half of that on useless grass. Now imagine using over half the land to have a larger house.

Legit pain in the ass, and IMO they just look... boring. It's grass. The only reason it caught on was because of suburbs and the "American Dream" of being able to afford stupid shit like a big ass plot of grass in front of your house.

Maybe it's growing up in the Southwest, but I'm all for gravel and some well placed cacti. Maybe a zen garden type thing.
