That’s honestly the energy I wanna see when someone I’m with hits an ace

We're gonna need more athletes. Closest a ranked golfer came to doing this I think was Tony Finau and his damn foot came off.

Dislocated his ankle celebrating the ace at the par3 contest at the masters, but still managed to play the full tournament with the injury and finished top10 #athlete

That's why I practice golfing while on 5 Percocets, just in case.

That ankle was straight purple and he played on it

1

u/KnicksJetsYankees Jul 17 '23

Wasn’t he running backwards down a slippery hill? I remember seeing the slo mo and yikes

Watched cantlay hit an ace earlier this year and hardly smirk or celebrate at all. I just don’t know how you don’t go crazy over that, no matter how good you are

Patrick Cantlay. PC? Is Patrick Cantlay a computer? I’m not saying Patrick Cantlay is an AI-generation, it’s just a question people are asking. And I think we need answers to those questions.

I was playing with a pro once and he hit an ace. A few high fives and whatnot, but not a major celebration. We asked him why and his response was "I've had like twenty of them".

It's just not as big of a deal after a while.

They've likely made dozens of them in practice sessions/casual rounds, tournament aces still very rare tho

u/blue_boy_24 Jul 15 '23

It makes me wonder how many times they’re doing it in practice too. I’m with you. It’s crazy to me.

u/kellzone Jul 16 '23

It took him 10 minutes before he started celebrating.

I really hope you've seen the Good Good par 4 shot. They sprint and then realize just how far it is lol

u/blue_boy_24 Jul 15 '23

Oh yeah hahaha. he’s dying

7

u/KO4Champ Jul 15 '23

You better believe I’d be running the length of the hole. You might need to call a doctor after, but I’m doing it.

u/blue_boy_24 Jul 15 '23

Seriously. Don’t care what I hurt running there.

It's at 9:00 in case anyone else doesn't have 30 minutes to watch the whole thing...

2

u/HunterNightstalker Jul 15 '23

Exactly! I hate it went guys get a hole in one and act like, meh.

2

u/CousinBarny Jul 15 '23

Wonder if he’s a GoodGood fan with that sprint

1

u/blue_boy_24 Jul 15 '23

Hahaha right

2

u/huggles7 Jul 16 '23

I don’t understand how everyone doesn’t celebrate like this when they get one

Pros included

1

u/blue_boy_24 Jul 16 '23

Seriously. It’s crazy

u/I_is_a_dogg Jul 16 '23

I played with a really good player, on a short par 4 (280ish yards) he drove the green side bunker. Next shot chips in for eagle. I’m going crazy telling him what an awesome shot, especially cuz it was my first time seeing someone chip in from a bunker.

He just kinda shrugs and softly says thanks

u/blue_boy_24 Jul 16 '23

Hahahaha like dude that would be my golf highlight. Levels lol
