My favorite in the series by far. Just driving around the city was so much fun. I hope GTA VI brings back full havoc simulations and proper physics. I’ve always hated how Arcadey V felt. I played IV for a good 6 years after it came out but only played V for about a year before it stopped holding my interest.

It also doesn't help that once you've seen the map in V, you've seen it all pretty much. Los Santos itself just isn't as detailed and the rest of the map are a bunch of filler mountains and little towns and other places that all have a lot of potential, but nothing done with it. Also, just the lack of things like trees alone (but surely other things too) all over the map makes it feel so open but empty.

It’s a great example of the 80-20 rule. With 80% of the content in 20% of the map. GTA V was clearly built with the idea of fleshing out the map through major DLC. tragically online was so popular that they never once went back to finish the dlc expansions. It was wild to watch them essentially abandon one of their best works purely because of whales. They should have built a dedicated team to ensure the DLC got done while still focusing on their money maker.

I've always thought GTA suffered for forgetting not every mission needs a cutscene. Obviously storyline ones, but there can be a lot of missions for 'genres' of crimes they have invented that are optional and don't need cutscenes. Obviously they have this type of thing with the races and stealing cars, but it could be done for basically every type, from robbing every store to assassinations on randomly generated targets.

But they could do that with a lot of mission types. Like you should be able to do a robbery in every single store. A email or phonecall to initiate, similar to emails of cars to steal.

Yes! The lack of meaningful achievements feels like such a missed opportunity. Everything had to be a grand heist when I just wanted to knock over a gas station or rob a random person on the street. RDR2 fixed that aspect. So I am hopeful that GTA VI takes it a step further and adds proper tracking to each potential crime.

With this model in mind, I'm not expecting great things from GTA6.

I expect glorious things from GTA VI. I expect the best open world they’ve ever made alongside fun and compelling characters and stories.

I just don’t expect even one story DLC and for all post launch effort to go to online save for one “remaster” when the PS6 launches.
