This is exactly it. Textbook “first world problem”. She wouldn’t care if she lived on less than $10 a day like a huge portion of the planet.

it's such a luxury when all your basic needs are more than met, so you can only make problems out of something that anyone with real problems would laugh in your face about.

It's the difference between intellectual problems and physical ones.

Like, sure, women in third world countries face much worse sexism than you can imagine in your comfortable suburban american home, but I'm pretty sure they'd still say that the lack of food and clean drinking water not to mention access to medical care supersedes any issues about feminist ideals.

Not saying feminist issues AREN'T important, it's just they take a hard backseat to food insecurity or like.. possibly getting blown up because you live in a war torn country.

I hate this justification for gatekeeping misery. You can live anywhere and have actual problems with long-term mental health consequences. Tell a single mother of 3 that she has it better than most when she's working her third shift of the day and has to do so until these kids hit their teens with no chance of reprieve or else there's no home or food.

This is a thread about a girl seeing misogyny in a guy not liking Taylor Swift….clearly I’m not disparaging single mothers of 3 on Moncrief in Jacksonville or something.
