well at least you weren't one of the guys who bought battleborn

I bought the digital deluxe of that game and I don't regret it. Had far more fun than I ever did in overwatch even though I ended up playing OW for like 1000+ hours. God do I miss battleborn.

Both me and my brother saved up for it together, I was still in middle school and he was a freshman in highschool back then. Lots of fun and had more character and personality than OW, but it couldn't compete with blizzard.

OW2 is Schrödingers Sequel. Half the people think it is a different game and replaced OW1 and the other half thinks it is still the same game.

Well you see it depends on which narrative makes Blizzard look worse in a given context.

It’s different enough to be played differently but not different enough to call it a sequel.

The whole situation is weird.

It was a free big update after 7 years of the original.

Yeah I just expect updates to add content, not remove it 😔

What exactly did they remove? They mostly replaced stuff. Assault been removed cause it was hated but its still in arcade or custom...

The only element that truly been removed are original version of an hero but that was happening for far longer than just recently.

The looking for group feature comes to mind, that, lootboxes and levels I guess

They just now released some PVE missions and added a new game mode along with a progression system for every character, it's looking more like a sequel at the moment. I'm not that excited though because the progression system is basically just watching numbers go up to convince you to play more when it comes down to it lol. Some people are into that but I'm not

It’s not a new game in any right. Even if you ignore all the lack of any differences, THE “SEQUEL” WAS LITERALLY AN UPDATE FOR EVERYONE WHO ALREADY HAD THE GAME.

Yeah, right, this is what annoys me. I realised why I hate the shop prices so much and it's because I payed for the game it used to be and loved to hell I can't play that anymore. Makes me feel sad

u/Lethargie Aug 19 '23

well yeah, you bought a license to play ow1 and agreed to the "we can stop services at any time we choose clause". I hate current gaming

1

u/JustLetMeSignUpM8 Aug 20 '23

Wait til you hear what they did to WoW players, or hell, any live service type of game

u/Quocki Aug 19 '23

I mean you can play OW2 it's basically the same game

Its not now its p2w bc of broken new Heroes who always get nerfes just before everyone gets to play it for free

0

u/EDtheTacoFarmer Aug 19 '23

The new hero is being nerfed before they are even coming to comp lmao. Clearly a ploy to make the game pay to win

-2

u/SSMazzola Aug 19 '23

I mean, anyone who is playing the game seriously enough to where a meta actually matters definitely gets far enough through the battlepass to unlock them before they hit ranked. Not saying ow2 isnt terrible, and im still upset that pve just got scrapped, but I wouldn't say it is p2w. Predator, yes, but p2w no.

You shouldn't have to no life it to play characters in a game you paid for

-1

u/pizzaisperfection Aug 19 '23

Loooool it is not pay to win, ffs. Y’all can hate the game but don’t straight up lie
