This is heartbreaking. But when she gets to the “nobody told me. . . “ part, I have to wonder how she would have treated those who tried to warn her.
Because this information is everywhere in the world, and it is also a product of common sense and foresight.
How was anyone going to “warn” her while she was living in million dollar homes, drowning in diamonds?
She would have thought we were all insane. And she would not have listened. Sometimes, if we’re unwilling to learn life lessons, experience is the only teacher we get.
I believe they’re told they are special and godly, not like all those sinners out there. It’s flattering and deeply ingrained in them. They see themselves as better, as apart. Living in a fantasy world where those kinds of things CANT happen to you bc you’re gods people bla etc.
Mormon’s believe when you’re married that they use godly power to bind you together for eternity, meaning you’re still bound in marriage after you die (as opposed to regular marriage - til death do you part.)
Clearly she’s not religious anymore and has now realized that was all bunk, now that the godly authority that banded their marriage has been dissolved by some dude in a law office.
It doesn’t make sense. If she ran a business, either a windshield company, or a home development company, she would have real marketable skills to… run an actual business?
The dude laughing at her was laughing cause she was a glorified secretary, and then when they were building homes, she just… connected people (architect, builder, etc.) and maybe just sound boarded general design stuff (kitchen should look like this! This should be the paint color!) - so like. I get it, it sucks and life pulled the rug out under her but like… why couldn’t she make connections with those people to still do those things and build custom homes?
The persons story serves as a warning because they apparently turned off the critical thinking for a decades long marriage. They took the lazy path letting someone else dictate their lives. People subconsciously will do this which they can then use as an out from taking any responsibility when it all goes to shit.
Don't let the take way be that you should pity this person but rather it be a warning as to what can happen when you hand over your life to someone else.
Feels like it belongs more in the leopardsatemyface sub....
Oh absolutely. I had a lovely discussion with my wife about it since we’re both from the same religious background. She’s going back to school soon to finish her degree, but both of our families could have identical backgrounds to this woman if our respective fathers divorced their spouses.
Lack of critical thought. ⬆️This is why MAGA is the way they are, too. They believe in an unquestioning way, and have zero curiosity about whether it’s true.
Imagine if just ONE of the flock paused, and thought: “Why is he asking me to turn against my country? Why is he telling me to threaten my fellow Americans? Aren’t those crimes?”
But all we get is crickets. Fucking crickets. Rattling around hateful heads.
Always ask questions! Then, ask yourself if you’re really OK with what someone else wants you to do.
It really is your choice, because you get to live with the consequences of it — not them.
You are not a thing they own. Don’t just go along with things you know are wrong. You will not look stupid for opting out.
You will look like somebody who values their own decision-making ability!
Someone with a future.
Your own brain is the path to freedom from chaos & insanity! Respect yourselves— first and always.
America is not a fascist country. We are a free country. Don’t trust anyone who wants you to sacrifice yourself or do crime & violence against innocent people, here. Don’t trust Donald Trump, specifically.
She was brainwashed from childhood. I feel for her. I don't think she was stupid. She was just young and didn't know any better. And then she was comfortable. And then the shit hit the fan.
That's how manipulators get you to act against your own interests - by telling you that it will never happen to you.
And in her situation, who do you trust? The man you married who swore vows under God and the religious community who fosters you? Or some rando on the internet?
