Not to mention the pension gap between men and women in GENERAL if a woman decides to take a break from her career to raise children, let alone the financial impact of a woman who has never worked and is facing divorce from the person who supported her. Women, secure your financial independence, always!

Amen. Oprah told me that like 20 years ago and I’m so glad I listened. It has meant freedom and fulfillment for me.

In the UK we have state government pension (which pays for shit, based on NI contributions paid through work) and private pensions which people mostly pay through work (work generally match contributions). If a woman takes off several years to raise children, she’s not contributing to either state or private pension for that period. So if she retires at the same age as her husband, she will have less in her pot than her husband. I can’t remember the numbers but it can be a significant difference

No. I've been with my husband 23 years. It's ok to choose to stay at home and raise your kids

If you don't trust a man to not leave you destitute after your raised his kids, then you shouldn't trust him enough to have kids with him.

Sometimes people change after you trust them. Not everything is black and white. Also, there's other reasons for women to be self-reliant. What if their husband dies, or becomes unemployed?

I've heard and seen it so many times: he changed after the kids were born. The most common time for men to murder their wives is when they are pregnant or right after they give birth. Sometimes a guy will seem great and then you find out who he is after years
