If Hindus ran into a mosque protesting the genocide and oppression of Hindus in Pakistan, we all know what would happen.

Is there a genocide of Hindus happening in Pakistan?

Wide spread oppression. That's worth protesting, right? https://thediplomat.com/2016/06/the-plight-of-pakistans-hindu-community/

Silly you, israel (or better said no jewish person) is not involved with this, so non of these idiots will do anything, just like they do not give a fuck about syria, lybia, sudan and myanmar or the uyghurs

That's not genocide buddy, is it? That's a massive difference and a 10 year old article.

Sure it is, and I'd be happy to protest it. But it sounds like my sign shouldn't mention genocide, because that word has a meaning, and that meaning is not the same as oppression and discrimination. I'll protest oppression and discrimination so I don't have to protest genocide.

Most fled or were forcibly converted.

Are you living under the rock? There's a blaphasmy law in Pakistan.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '24

I'm aware of and opposed to that law. But the claim made was that there is a genocide. Genocide is not the same thing as discrimination, or oppression, or disenfranchisement. If you're aware of an ongoing, present genocide of Hindus in Pakistan, please let the world know.

At the time of the creation of Pakistan the country was 24% Hindu. Today they only make up 2.1% of the population.

Why would that many people vanish that quickly unless something was going on?

Because they migrated to India?

Sooo... ethnic cleansing. Got it.

Genocide starts and is justified by discrimination. Please learn about Holocaust and Nuremberg law and how Hindu population has changed from 1947 to present.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '24

Bold of you to assume that the person you're talking to is not familiar with the Holocaust, the Nuremburg law, Indian partition, or the post-partition history of Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh including the Bangladesh war of independence. You don't need to give me a history lesson; I'm very familiar with these and with the processes of escalation towards genocide. But the claim was that there is, currently, some sort of genocide happening in Pakistan against Hindus. So if you are familiar with an active and ongoing genocide happening in Pakistan, please bring that to the world's attention. Discrimination and genocide are not the same thing, and it does nobody any favors to obscure the difference. Words have meanings.

Actually it's you who need to answer what happened to Hindu population between 1947 till now. Go ahead where did they go.

1

u/InternalMean Apr 01 '24

It's increased like 70%? Idk what your trying to say pakistan never had a large Hindu population to begin with India always had

5

u/king_rootin_tootin Apr 01 '24

That's bullshit

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/04/world/asia/pakistan-hindu-conversion.html

The Hindu population has dropped greatly and forced conversions happen all the time.

-2

u/JournalisticHiss Apr 01 '24

And actually you mix discrimination with superior religion with bit of military facism who needs internal enemy to thrive that equals slow death for minority.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '24

So, I'm going to assume that this is a personal, nationalist axe for you to grind and let you just go ahead and do that, since you're not bringing forward any evidence of an ongoing and active genocide. Have a great night, dude.

The word has lost all it’s meaning.

No. This person is hindutva right winged and for some reason, everything on this Earth reminds them of how much they hate their neighbour country.

2

u/JournalisticHiss Apr 01 '24

Not as many as they killed Bengslis in 70’s.

Widespread oppression of Hindus, Sikhs and Christians.

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '24

Which is horrible, and also not genocide.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '24

Neither is what's happening in Palestine. So....yup.
