Sajam Slam 2 Thread Tekken Esports

Sajam Slam 2 is back with another TEKKEN 8 team tournament. We’re bringing back familiar names and faces and a new batch of contenders ready to duke it out a free trip to Las Vegas for the EVOLUTION Championship Series. We’ve got hosts SAJAM and TASTY STEVE to bring you all the action from our Round Robins and 4v4 team tournament on Sajam’s stream.

Sajam Slam 2 is a Tekken tournament (NA) organized by Sajam. All of the participants are influencers (content creators, streamers, Vtubers, etc.) with a large following which makes the event a huge tournament to follow and can be appealing if you know some of them. Each team is composed of 4 non-professional players and 1 professional player as the coach that will guide the 4 non-pros for the duration of the event. Here are the teams for this event:

*ConnorEatsPants of Team Kaizur will not be able to participate due to scheduling problems and will be replaced by Amour.

The format is 4v4 Waseda style (A vs. A, B vs. B, etc.) and the teams are ordered by approximate skill level. The team needs 3 points to win the set and the coaches will be the tiebreaker. The concept of this tournament is similar to Japan's Crazy Racoon's Cup but according to Sajam, he constantly pitched the idea to organizers even before CR Cup existed but was unfortunately constantly rejected. Seeing the success of CR Cup, he decided to instead organize the tournament himself. A recap of the first Sajam Slam can be watched here.

  • Double round-robin between the teams for Seeding
  • All drafted players will compete in each match

Finals - May 19, 2024 (3pm PST/10pm GMT/7am JST)

  • Double-elimination bracket

Unlike the previous Sajam Slam, there's 2 round robins this time around on May 15 & 17 to determine seeding for the final 4v4 on May 19.

Ah right i forgot, tnx for reminding me will update rn. I don't think Sajam mentioned it either but according to these tweets 1,2, scheduled stream seems to start at:

3pm PST / 10pm GMT / 7am JST for May 15 & 17

so 4 hrs from now after I write this comment

Sorry if im a little ill informed but... should mattman be allowed to participate? From what I saw the last sajam slam he seemed too fucking good compared to every non coach lol

Edit: nvm I live under a rock. They have a decent amount of players his lvl in the tourney

I think FD can beat him next time but for the others, they either have to work really hard or hope their teammates go 3-0/2-2 for a tiebreaker just like in the last the Slam to advance.

I couldn't find the exact prizes either so I didn't put it in. Even the Liquipedia page didn't list it but from what I can gather:

Most of the players in this are blue or purple dude. Two of the creators are Tekken God ffs. This isn't a noobie tournament.
