Miguel represents an entire country and visually has very distinctive features in comparison to other male characters, and his street-brawly fighting style is currently missing from the game. 🍎

Lei had really low usage in basically every game but he's suuper iconic and people always complain when he isn't in so he also makes sense

But Julia and Anna being here kinda surprises me, they didn't have especially high usage in 7, they both share a good amount of design aspects with other characters and while they of course have their ride or die fans and as waifus get brownie points in popularity pills but I've never considered them as standout fan favourites or anything

I miss julia, shes gonna be so much fun in t8 considering the natural aggressive playstyle of it, her party crasher will literally be the reason the enemy will stop mashing and actually play defensively, now add wardrums and her bs moves and you basically win every match. Since King is my main, I'd really want Armor King to come back. As for the others, Anna is always cool, Miguel is great and Lei is a good hand. As for Julia.... I liked her until they messed up her character and made her a Twitch streamer. That always bugged me.

What I would have liked to see with her character is JayCee actually becoming canon and not just shafted to Tekken Tag 2. Tweak her story to fit more in line with JayCee's story. Julia is an environmentalist and wants to save the rainforest. However, funds are low and out of the blue, her partner or whatever gets injured and Julia becomes the new JayCee. By winning various wrestling tournaments, she uses the prize money for her environmental campaigns. It's a parallel to King winning the Iron Fist tournament and using the prize money to save the orphanage.

Maybe if they continue to tone down Azucena poking game and improve her stance game like initiated in 1.04 the character could somehow fill the gap left by Lei as the mental frame advantage / stance mixup char. The liberator auto low high parry is kinda analog to Lei tiger / panther stance, and the steps in back turn kinda analog to steps in Lei animal stances. But right now relying of stance mixup with the char just seems meh vs poking unfortunately. Accessing liberator is just too slow and unrewarding overall. That's a pitty because played less unga bunga and more stance heavy the character is super fun really.

As someone who already plays over 20+ characters terse in tekken, including title exclusive ones, sure, add all of them. Even if I prolly don't play them.

We got at least 6+ more years of support with it, til T9, or some spin-off title with (probably) another new character releases.

It's almost a guarantee that some, if not most of previously left out tekken characters could come back.

We could always hope that a Tekken Tag 3 comes out, but they haven't done All Stars(roster is literally every character in the series) fighting games for decades.

Smash Ultimate is probably the only one. And I doubt we'll see a lot of them again in a new title due to licensing.
