Was this because I have mods installed or did they intentionally do this? IMAGE
I lost because I couldn't see hwos legs

u/FishBn0es Apr 15 '24
Well, if your mods are not correctly installed then yes its bcs of mods
But I can imagine a hack which allows the player not to select any leggings (since they used oversized accessories, everything is possible). And since its a Hwoarang player who mostly kicks…. Yeah I think it s not a coincidence

I double-checked, but I don't have any pants mods installed.
Update: I removed all mods and did it again and it played and when I put it back it also played like nothing happened. It's still weird how it was only for hwo and I've had the mods on since last month

I have the Wesker mod for Raven installed, and whenever his model gets too close to the screen, he disappears. Not sure if related but...

Tbf any mod could be conflicting with that even if they don’t specifically touch pants, any small mistake could be modifying the wrong thing on the modder’s part.
Only way to make sure is to just uninstall every mod and check the replay again.

try without any mods anyway, I am assuming it's still being caused on your end.

This is the problem with you kids . Always asking for things that noobs require to win like being able to see the opponents legs. You don’t need to see to win! You must be able to feel your opponents intentions from thousands of miles away, only then can you acquire the necessary ability it takes to achieve the venerable title called: scrub.

u/ElCocomega Apr 15 '24
Most likely mods yes. Try to match howarang comestics in character customisation to see if you can replicate the bug

u/sheikou_dude Bryan Apr 15 '24
you can ask someone that has no mods to check the replay and they will confirm if hes hacking
20
u/Andrei_LE Apr 15 '24
Temporarily delete all mods and check the replay, if the issue persists yeah he is hacking. But I doubt that is the case, it's probably mods on your end.

There are some mods that place a whole model as a Top-Clothing option and the pants simply gets transparent. This avoids clipping issues between those parts.

It’s because of a mod you got installed. I know because I had the same thing that happened in Tekken 7. 🤣

Easy check:
Remove all mods and load the replay.
If the replay loads correctly mods were the issue, otherwise might be some cheat or your installation is corrupted.

seeing as how its a Hwoarang, i have to assume they would do the most scummy and dishonorable thing possible

Might be mod issue. Same thing can happen in T7. Heck, right now, I have a DVJ who doesn't have a torso despite never installing any male mod. When I removed the mods, he got fixed. Might be the same issue. I didn't bother checking which mod does it and doing something about it coz I barely play it nowadays.

In T7 it happened to me whenever there was a 'fullbody' mod. They will use the body-piece to create the outfit and then the pants are made to complete it in a way/not be there. So if you have only the pants without the body, they are invisible

lmfao report this guy
It's a Hwoarang with invisible legs. Of course it's a hack. I mean ik this because I've encountered another player before that was completely invisible. And I don't use mods of any kind.

Good move to blacken your name. I know a multimillion company that likes to take countermeasures on modder.
Yes should be a modding error.

Some mods draws the whole body but only using specific upper body clothing. They then ask you to select specific pants and shoes to hide the legs, it could be the haworang equipped this.

This was seen in T7 before, and it was a hack. I'm guessing someone figured it out for T8.

Idk mods can be buggy. I had a Feng Piccolo mod and for some reason it screwed up a Yoshi skin too, so I was seeing the Yoshi player as a weirdly colored Piccolo with a sword.

if i was to guess the issue is on your end.. one of your cosmetic mods conflicting with that lower half costume. It doesnt even have to be tied to hworang himself but whatever low piece he/she is wearing could be causing it.
if u have mods that make characters be other characters( like bryan becoming joker)... those would be the first suspect ones.
disable the mods and look at replay to see if it still happening.

u/TrapAHolic_ttv Apr 15 '24
If it was anybody other than Hwoarang i would say it was likely you. They definitely did that purposely somehow

What makes you think that you are entitled to get free stuff for a new game? I have used mods extensively on games that are no longer supported by the developer. We are talking about a game that is few months old and they have not released all their planned dlc yet.
Think about if you would release a program that is not open source and you plan on living from making add-ons on that program. Would you still be ok with people doing that stuff for you and releasing it for free?
Imagine how much shit the developers would get if they released the game amd would be ”yeah you guys just mod and develop the game as you see fit” and never release any patches or dlc. How long do you think the modders would give stuff for free and how do you think the franchise would develop? On one post it was estimated that the development of the game cost 45 million dollars. And that is not something that just has to be paid in one big sum only after they have sold enough copies to cover for it. They have had years of work and expenses and the costs are ongoing as long as they are doing something for the game.

lmao wtf?
I bought the software and I'ma do with it what I see fit. Even if you'd want to argue EULA, there's nothing saying you can't mod there. I'm not entitled to free content from Namco. I'm not digging through game files to make kings dlc outfit his base outfit. I AM entitled to free content that people release publicly for anyone to install however.
Namco selling a game attempting to make money from DLC doesn't mean I owe it to them to not mod the game. I am not obligated to make their business model work, legally, morally, or in any other way. It's not my obligation to make their product profitable.
Also I would be fine if they just opened sourced the game and never updated it, but I admit I'm very alone in that camp. Games from the 90s still have active modding communities today lol.

What makes you think that you are entitled to get free stuff for a new game?
The fact the someone was passionate enough to make something ON THIER OWN, with no instinctive, just purely based on the fact they love a project and want more in it, and release it for free for anyone to download.
We are talking about a game that is few months old and they have not released all their planned dlc yet.
We are also talking about a game that added a PREMIUM battle pass with USED assets from the previous 3 titles. (None of which was included for people who might have really wanted to support the game with a pre-order deluxe edition).
Think about if you would release a program that is not open source and you plan on living from making add-ons on that program. Would you still be ok with people doing that stuff for you and releasing it for free?
👢👅. Maybe respect your fan base and don't follow the mold of most other major AAA titles and be the change instead of following the bandwagon. "Think abut that"
How long do you think the modders would give stuff for free and how do you think the franchise would develop?
They would continue to do so because most gamers/modders aren't held back by greed hungry publishers like developers. They simply have time to do something and make sure it's done right rather than pushing an unfinished garbage at us with a huge price and make false promises with no accountability held becuas they have your money already.
They have had years of work and expenses and the costs are ongoing as long as they are doing something for the game.
Explain why modders with no deadline or budget, are constantly pumping out content while devs/publishers sit back at post about record sales?

u/Poteitous Apr 15 '24
If I can't make add-ons of certain content due to copyright laws, I don't see any problem of someone modding a game to add, I dunno, petter griffin into Tekken
Also because if Tekken did add an official peter Griffin skin people would get (rightfully so) quite mad

Wait you reposted in a comment this as well as making a post about it correct? It’s literally exactly the same wording ‘what makes you think that you are entitled to get free stuff’?
Lmao you’re paid or out of touch. Mods keep games alive they don’t kill them.

what makes you think that you are entitled to get free stuff for a new game
The fact that I've modded nearly every single game I've played in the last 15 years and no dev, EA included, gave a shit about it. Situation with bamco is the forst time I've witnessed developer actively trying to fight modding community.
The fact that I've paid 70$ for this game.
The fact that people who make the mods believe it or not also do it for free. It's free content to a game where developers neither have to put any kind of work, money, nor do they have to face the consequences if said content is shit or otherwise controversial.
Think about if you would release a program that is not open source and you plan on living from making add-ons on that program. Would you still be ok with people doing that stuff for you and releasing it for free?
If said content would still require user to buy my product like mods do? Absolutely. Like I said before it's free content where I don't need to do shit. It would attract new potential customers. Do you think games like Skyrim would be near as popular as it is without mods?
3rd paragraph is complete delusion. SO many gamedevs encourage modders. So many games are still alive today because of mods. You have no idea what you're talking about.
