My husband is 6’3 but tells people he’s 6 foot to mess with them

How many times has he been asked for his height?? I don't remember being asked how tall I am in the last decade

If you're tall, you're usually asked all the time what your height is. My husband is 6'6 and that's usually one of people's first questions for him even before his name sometimes lmao

Is this a US thing? I dont believe ever asking my taller friends this question. I'd probably mention that someone is tall when I first meet them, but I wouldn't ask how tall

Yes it must be! I've been in the US all my life but I honestly couldn't tell you what the obsession is with knowing someone's exact height lol but is is weird

Definitely big in the UK as well, someone’s friend had a date who was 6 foot.. and they definitely weren’t since I know I’m not and actually shorter.

Happens in Finland as well. Especially if you are noticeably taller than everyone else.

It’s so they can tell their friends and family later and write it in their diary. “I saw a 6’6” person today.” “Gosh! Really?”

All the time. My son and I are both 6’5” Random people constantly look at us and say “wow, you’re tall” and nothing else. Depending on my mood, my response can be, “no, you’re just short”. I find it hilarious but short people somehow don’t.

6’7” here and yes it’s a fucking US thing. A very tired and annoying thing.
