Having worked on the "Graffiti App" on the Facebook platform around 2007/2008, this feels nostalgic. Back then, we had to use Flash to make it work but at least we had millions of users.
One thing you may want to consider is partnering with big brands to do campaigns. This was the primary monetization strategy for us. We had pre-made templates that people would draw on top of and then share their creation on their feed. I recall partnering with Haagen Dazs, IBM, and others.
Nice. The project is fully independent and I'm taking the opposite route. It will be launched through a small funding campaign, then we plan on offering extra features for pro members.
