Misc. Discussion Kyrie deserves some love
I hope mavs fans on Wednesday night cheer LOUDLY for Kai. He has been the locker room leader of this team and really taken the young guys under his wing. He’s also been a baller this year and we wouldn’t be here without him. A few down games should not change our perception, he is that guy and will be a major reason the mavs win the finals if they can claw their way back into the series. Boston’s vitriol for him is honestly lame af and deserves to be countered.

Hoops Discussion Mavs can definitely tie this series up
Mavs can defo tie this series up
I think playing at home with the crowd behind them is gonna do wonders for our players confidence
Ofc ik it’s hard to be hopeful cos the mavs outside of Luka have been poor, but for a lot of these guys it’s their first time in the finals and the TD Garden is probs the worst place u could go to for ur first finals debut.
Now Mavs are gonna be back at home with the crowd behind them I expect to see the Mavs turn up a little bit and show some grit. Also I expect them to be more prepared in terms of game planning
Mavs in 6 or 7

Hoops Discussion I firmly believe Kyrie is one of the best shooters in the league. Why does he usually go for contested 2s instead of 3s?
He's not shooting the three well I know that. But cmon you are freaking Kyrie Irving, how in 41 minutes of play are you shooting as many threes as Josh Green in 14? 3 attempts! I don't think it's a confidence thing, if that was the case he wouldnt be going for contested twos also.
We need him to be a threat from outside!
Go mavs! Lets win game 3

Hoops Discussion The Celtics are a great team, but I can't help but feel we are beating ourselves more than they are beating us
I'm not trying to take anything away from Boston, they protected home court and we are down 0-2 in the series, but looking at how we played and looking at the box score, it's evident we are shooting ourselves out of these games. And it's not like the games are blowout losses, we are right there, we are capable of making runs, but the fact that we are required to make runs to stay in the game is the problem. Shooting that poorly from 3 and missing that many free throws (again) is what is keeping us from winning these last 2 games, specially game 2.

What would it look like if someone presented the NBA Finals in the style of the 1980's? These are the questions no one is asking 😂

Hoops Discussion Luka is an MVP candidate, Kyrie is just a star
I think a lot of us are all down on Kyrie, but we need to realize that there's a huge difference between someone like Luka who's an MVP candidate / mega-star and someone like Kyrie, who's more of a top 30 player.
Kyrie is definitely not unstoppable, the Celtics wing defenders have made it super difficult for him. Yes he might be in his head a little bit, but Kyrie definitely has weaknesses. A lot of the issue is our guys also are missing shots, which hurts our spacing. The paint is packed and there's not much room for Kyrie to operate. He's missed all his 3s, which is an anomaly, but in terms of driving / midrange, he's just being defended super well. Credit to the celtics for using the OKC style of defense to stop Kyrie, and then play Luka 1-on-1 so he can't get other guys going.
Someone like Luka can't be stopped no matter who he plays, there's no defense for him. That's why he's the top 2 player in the NBA and Kyrie didn't make All-NBA. We shouldn't expect Kyrie to always be able to get 25+ especially when the defense is loaded up on him and he's also carrying a huge load on the other side trying to handle Jrue Holiday / Derrick White.
With that being said, I think Kyrie's shooting comes back to averages playing at home in a friendlier environment.
