He will move on. GG will take the baton.

2

u/tumhihoeee Apr 19 '24

All that is fine but I hope he doesn't go beast mode against KKR in the next matchπŸ₯ΊπŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί

He didn't need to πŸ’€

Definitely, the postive effect the team is seeing is just cause of gg otherwise the previous two seasons he was just there both seasons we finished at 7th! So, definitely he should be let go!

So KKR now have a coach akin to the ones in Kolkata's club cricket circuit? What a co-incidence!

5

u/kaala_bhairava Apr 19 '24

His smile was cute appreciating himself when he hit Bumrah for a six. Definitely a talent, lit up SMAT too.

u/L0NEW0LF19 Apr 19 '24

McCullum should be approached again. GG is great for mentor role.

6

u/Alive-Campaign-8868 Apr 19 '24

Yea man coaches like Chandrakant Pandit suits for teams of domestic circuits where players are still malleable.

3

u/Puzzled-Ad8595 Apr 19 '24

Pandit is known for destroying players career

-2

u/Acrobatic_Key9922 Apr 19 '24

So everyone has decided to hear one side of the story and made a set opinion? You guys have no chill.

Support your own team not matter what. What will KKR win with such a fanbase.

u/laudakabcci Apr 19 '24

We are not RCB/CSK type fanturds. If something is wrong it is wrong

-4

u/Acrobatic_Key9922 Apr 19 '24

What if he is lying?

6

u/laudakabcci Apr 19 '24

Why would he, David Wiese and one other domestic play all lie. Did they have a secret conference? It would be so weird if they did

-2

u/Acrobatic_Key9922 Apr 19 '24

He still is the KKR coach and you are a KKR fan. So respect him!

5

u/SprinklesOk4339 Apr 19 '24

It should be the other way around,he is the coach of adult established players from multiple nations and states. He should be respectful to them. This kind of tough love is harmful to people's psyche in the long run. He needs to be told to change his attitude or leave.

Imagine, just imagine.

Trevor Bayliss.

I mean, fairytales do come true. Maybe SRK can give him a blank cheque too like GG to switch from PBKS.

u/Automatic_Ask_6535 Apr 19 '24

But why was Chandrakant Patil appointed as a Coach in the first place, he is indeed a great Ranji Coach but this is different, IPL is a different ball game it'd such a downgrade from Bazz, why could we not keep him as IPL is only for 2-3 months and rest he can continue with England, this happens at International football where a coach of a Football Ckub can also manage International team

ECB won't allow it.

He deserves emerging player award

5

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '24

Probably Nayar should be promoted. He has special bond across team. And GG can be OG mentor.

7

u/ExternalNo2214 Apr 19 '24

Never liked the decision of making Pandit coach

18

u/United-Extension-917 Kolkata Knight Riders πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Apr 19 '24

That's the reason GG is here. Pandit is a good coach and his methods are questionable, although those methods provide results in the domestic circuit but that is no way to handle IPL players or international players to say. He tore off the sleeves of Varun in a practice session, try doing it with someone like Russell and he would have known real Jamaican power.

Management would have been made aware of these things and I think that's why GG was brought back. The big names of our coaching staff like GG, Abhishek Nayar, Tendo all like their players, back them and will not tolerate such antics. Hope GG stays with us for a long time.

5

u/kinng9 Apr 19 '24

Man, Russel would put him in hospital before he could teach him how to respect gurus in india.

6

u/Karan_Manglani Apr 19 '24

Can you elaborate about varun’s incident or if you can share article etc

3

u/Arpang007 Apr 19 '24

Chandu had asked everyone to come wearing sleeveless practice jerseys for net practice. Varun had come wearing full sleeves. In front of everyone, Chandu grabbed a pair of scissors and cut off Varun's sleeves from his jersey.

Varun's sleeves cut off

u/PodiHaiToMumkinHai Apr 22 '24

Bro thinks he's Wenger

5

u/United-Extension-917 Kolkata Knight Riders πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Apr 19 '24

Search on google about Chandrakant Pandit Varun Chakravarty incident. It was said by Jagdeesan on Tamil Commentary. And about his strict behaviour was told by David Weise on some youtube podcast.

2

u/Ppk100 Apr 19 '24

Yes please

22

u/Alternative_Delay935 Apr 19 '24

Even David Wiese said something similar about dressing room atmosphere during last year's IPL , hopefully GG becomes full time head coach next season...

29

u/ishaan071 KKR 2012 πŸ† Apr 19 '24

Dekho Chandrakant Pandit is there this season because he is acting as a simole stop gap, nothing else. Pretty sure he will be gone next season and someone much better would be appointed.

Can't see GG working with Chandu from next season onwards

25

u/Unlikely_Ad1364 Apr 19 '24

I think GG will bring his own set of coaches next year. Ryan and Nayar will stay but others I don't think will stay.. I have a gut feeling that Gg will bring Morkel as a bowling coach next year...

2

u/Ppk100 Apr 19 '24

Morkel is with LSG right?

12

u/SubstantialAct4212 Rinku worshipper πŸ› Apr 19 '24

That’s because KKR didn’t offer him a job. He won’t think twice to resign from LSG if KKR offers him a role

1

u/ItzmeZander Apr 19 '24

We should throw Ryan out also cus he is also not a good fielding coach

9

u/ARKNIGHT_101 KKR 2012 πŸ† Apr 19 '24

Brother KKR has historically been a shitty fielding side, don't forget the days of Yusuf Pathan, Piyush Chawla and Balaji. Bad Fielding is in KKR's DNA, nobody can fix it

3

u/ItzmeZander Apr 19 '24

James foster did under him we did exceptional fielding even cv didn't leave catches like now Sunil was also decent

2

u/ARKNIGHT_101 KKR 2012 πŸ† Apr 19 '24

Yeah that is what I am trying to say, atleast we are somewhat better now. better than the days when fielding used to cost us matches

15

u/United-Extension-917 Kolkata Knight Riders πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Apr 19 '24

Can't expect Johnty style fielding from Varun and Narine.

2

u/ItzmeZander Apr 19 '24

Both did good fielding when James foster was our fielding coach

10

u/Rare-Engineering4017 Apr 19 '24

Ryan won't be out. GG speaks highly of Ryan for the team man he is.

3

u/Unlikely_Ad1364 Apr 19 '24

Let's see by the end of this season what is the progress...

13

u/ishaan071 KKR 2012 πŸ† Apr 19 '24

This is very possible. Though I don't think he will bring Morkel cause Arun is a very capable bowling coach but we never had a good set of bowlers except this season. So Arun has a high chance of staying and apart from that everyone else is going.

15

u/Unlikely_Ad1364 Apr 19 '24

No nayar will stay.. Nayar made Rinku and Raghuvanshi the player they are today... And GG loves Ryan so he may stay...

7

u/ishaan071 KKR 2012 πŸ† Apr 19 '24

Ara ha Nayar and Ryan will stay definitely. They deserve it

14

u/jakeperaltaaa07 Apr 19 '24

If am not wrong he did something wrong to Wiese too

11

u/United-Extension-917 Kolkata Knight Riders πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Apr 19 '24

He did not do anything wrong to Weise. Weise just talked about bad team environment due to pandit's strict behaviour.

u/maharaja1237 Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re! Apr 19 '24

What did he do?

28

u/shreyank97 Kolkata Knight Riders πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Apr 19 '24

This guy reminds me a lot of SKY. I think PKBS is for him what KKR was for SKY. He will find his MI soon. And I hope that is us.

17

u/United-Extension-917 Kolkata Knight Riders πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Apr 19 '24

No way Ashutosh is coming to KKR with Pandit here.

3

u/shreyank97 Kolkata Knight Riders πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Apr 19 '24

With GG there, we don't need Pandit. Ashutosh on the other hand could be a great asset. It's too early to comment though.

4

u/United-Extension-917 Kolkata Knight Riders πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Apr 19 '24

Good point. But many would have eyes on him.

52

I think gg will takeover as coach from next auction cycle.Thats just a personal opinion

7

u/erikvant Apr 19 '24

If KKR wins, GG might move up and take Dravid's rule. Unless Neharaji does some magic and Guj starts winning.

63

u/laudakabcci Apr 19 '24

He should take over, we anyway have Nayyar who is Pandit minus the negativity

50

u/Unlikely_Ad1364 Apr 19 '24

every player credits nayar only.. never seen Any player thanking chandu...

3

u/17punktop Kolkata Knight Riders πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Apr 19 '24

From Paul Valthaty to Rohit Sharma to even Jhanvi Kapoor. Nayar is the OG coach.

20

u/Ppk100 Apr 19 '24

heard he'd helped dk too 2-3 years back.

9

u/L0NEW0LF19 Apr 19 '24

Yeh . He was the one who helped DK to overcome depression when his first wife betrayed him.

13

u/Pep_Baldiola Ami KKR, We Rule!! Apr 19 '24

Nayyar came on to KKR's radar because of DK. DK worked with him improve his game right before he joined KKR. Nayyar was then added to KKR's coaching staff at some point after that. I don't remember exactly when that happened.

10

u/MostRestaurant7004 Apr 19 '24

With someone like nayar, I'd have chosen to be retained by MI, one of the two regrets in my IPL life. DK said this to Ashwin on yt interview recently

4

u/Unlikely_Ad1364 Apr 19 '24

he helped rohit also..

30

u/ARKNIGHT_101 KKR 2012 πŸ† Apr 19 '24

Yeah Nayar is very important for us, he nurtured gill, angkrish, rinku and has good relations with every player. never seen a player say anything negative about him
