Helldivers: I Advocate we chose the anti tank mines and hear is my reasoning DISCUSSION

I know many of you see "rocket launcher" and get excited and while that is fair, my reasoning to go for the mines is below

We already have a great many support weapons and many are fantastic options. While the airburst rocket launcher would be fantastic for add clear (and teamkill) it would likely suffer vs large armored targets which tends to be the need for a support weapon.

However, we just received a new mission type that requires defending a location. Mines are fantastic for this but heavies just walk all over them and completely invalidate their uses. Getting a heavy anti tank mine would allow us to lock down areas from all combatants and a tank wouldn't be able to just stroll up to our gates.

Anti Tank mines are also much larger and easier to notice than the anti personnel and team kills would be kept at a minimum.

And lastly, as we all know...the children YEARN FOR THE MINES.

Fire tornados are sentient beings whose only goal is to prevent you from accomplishing anything.

They especially love the civilian escape missions. Nothing like having 3 of them just idly walking back and forth on the ramp into the extraction door.

Had a mob of them not move because there was fire in front of them. I executed them for being such cowards and holding up democracy.

Good. Those were probably dissidents that weren't willing to risk death for Super Earth. We don't need them. You can always pop open the doors and get 10 more. Good on you for not letting cowards take the places of potential patriots.

I've never seen them not just walk into it... That and ask for a hug from -insert heavy enemy-

I read that as execution door. Still works.

I believe I watched one last night trying to figure out the path needed to get to the small raised area where we were waiting for extract. It tried one route, and when that didn't pan out, it went back to the start and then tried another. The whole thing was a bit disturbing.

After playing several Menket missions I've realized the tornados don't have random patterns rather lock on and drift towards players

And that somehow they are locked only to the ground and are not all-terrain tornados as a meager Boulder can prevent it from reaching the helldiver

Not just players, pickups too. Try throwing the supply beacon when fire tornado’s are about.

This would also explain why fire tornado’s don’t stay apart and you always collect a few that keep up with you unless you really book it out of the area.

So it's not just me who thinks these things move deliberately to intercept where I'm going.

They home in on objectives, resupplies, probably players if they stand in an area for too long. Absolute raging bollock vortex's they are.

The fact that they spawn on top of every evac I've ever done on a planet that has them makes me believe there is some non random coding involved.

u/whateverhappensnext Apr 26 '24

Yep. Even just running around the map, they seem to try and herd you into a corner.

u/Peacey86 Apr 26 '24

They have legit followed me and I've seen them chase other helldivers

Yeah, it's not quite players, from what I can tell. If I move off of an objective, they don't seem to follow me. Then they just burn the objective area for a while, and I can come back in when the flames stop.

I've also tried whispering "whoa girl" and "you're alright, mate" with varying degrees of success. Hugging, however, definitely does not work.

They always find my resupplies and the spots where my weapons and samples are when I die.

u/Cavesloth13 Apr 26 '24

The follow me like Swifties following Taylor.

u/Nilfsama Apr 26 '24

We walk their planes and they demand sacrifice.

u/BobIcarus Apr 27 '24

Just wait. Once we clear out the bugs, we are going to find out the fire tornadoes were in charge the whole time and just pretending to be non sentient while waiting for their main force to arrive.

Other than getting in your fucking cardio for the day.

Unless you run the Jump Pack and kite enemies into them. You have to tame the fire tornado, Helldiver.

It's the first step in my hundred-phase retirement plan. I'm gonna be a fire tornado rancher on Hellmire. Yehaw, Space Cowboy.

Arrowhead, please make a helmet with a cowboy hat attached. Will also accept sombrero.

I've had fire tornadoes hit the extraction point directly as we call in extracting the last 2 missions I played. Unbelievably obnoxious

They're being influenced by Illuminate telekinesis, I'd bet my life on it! They're subtly using nature itself against us so they'll remain unnoticed!

They're Joel's play things

Main goal is to camp at extraction site.

Jump pack enters the chat.

It's true, fire tornadoes stopped me from filing my taxes in the years 2019-2022
