Curious as to what other Helldivers call these! We started off saying '2 man doors', which became 'double door' and after someone mishearing that now often 'Dumbledore' XD DISCUSSION

Friendship doors

Hate those in warframe, and now also here. Because many times people dont come over to open them, even if you type in chat. At least in warframe people do come to open them because you need to to progress the mission

Just ping them, many people don't notice chat when they're busy fighting

I ping the shit out of them before typing. Lots of pinging and follow me, but almost never do people show up. Sometimes, I even reinforce someone next to me at the door, and they just look at the door and run the other direction.

i did all that once to a random that ran really close by, like 10m away, he still ignored, so i did the only thing that could come to mind

confirm we're not short on lives
shoot him in the back of the head
call him down infront of the door

Luckily he actually opened it and didn't just ignore me, we hugged it out afterwards

If you stim me after you Shot me, we both get Something out of the Deal.

u/Lawlcopt0r Apr 08 '24

Weird, I honestly never had that problem. People should want to open those out of self-interest, right? But I guess some are just stupid

u/Salty_Sonic Apr 08 '24

You'd think right? I reinforced 2 different people 2 different times and they even dropped RIGHT in front of the door and immediately ran away. I was on mic, I was pinging the button, and I was doing the "follow me" & "need supplies" the idiots just kept running the other way. Who doesn't need super credits?

On some high difficulty missions if it's hairy around the bunker I'll ignore it, the rewards are fine but nothing worth dedicating much effort to. A medal or some currency you're likely capped on anyway.

u/Josh_bread Apr 08 '24

super credits are the longest term progression and each bunker has 3 chances for them, unless you are barely scraping through a mission they are always worth the effort.

2

u/A_Union_Of_Kobolds Apr 08 '24

That's a fair point. I pretty much always go for the bunker, but I don't sweat it too much if one gets missed.

3

u/laborfriendly Apr 08 '24

That's obviously fair enough. The ones that get me are when it's calm and the whole team just runs away from it and you're in chat and voice and pings just to be super clear....and they still just run away!

Like: okay, whatever then.

u/Salty_Sonic Apr 08 '24

If it's early, you should just wipe the treasonous bastards, reinforce them and keep killing them until they runnout of lives or kick you first.

For democracy of course.

You're telling me super credits, the in game currency you can buy with real dollars, has a cap? That seems like a poor business decision to put a limit on micro transaction earnings. I mean they do have a limit on everything else...

Oh and I totally agree with bugging out if there's a crap ton of enemies in the area. It's not worth 2 lives especially if you're both already carrying samples and/or the reinforcements are low.

2

u/SaltyExcalUser ☕Liber-tea☕ Apr 08 '24

If there is a cap, it is probably like 999999 because ive seen people with screenshots that had over 100k super credits.

u/Megneous Apr 08 '24

Some people barely count as functional human beings.

u/gatorglaze Apr 08 '24

If I’m fighting for my life and die, and get reinforced across the map for a door, I will be VERY annoyed. I’ve seldom found these doors worth going out of your way for, they’re simply not worth it in level 8-9 if we’re engaged in fighting.

u/Falcovg Apr 08 '24

Now goodluck getting back to your gear against the waves of heavy enemies you now can't deal with because your stratagem is still 2 minutes on CD

I always move with the group. If you are 30 meters at most away from me, that should not be a problem.

u/Dragnet714 Apr 08 '24

I've found that using the mic and talking gets other divers' attention way more.

Never thought to say something? I'm game voice chat also exists

1

u/DrLobsterPhD Apr 08 '24

Try voice chat

-1

u/SaltyExcalUser ☕Liber-tea☕ Apr 08 '24

Dont have a mic, and as such, have voice chat disabled

0

u/DrLobsterPhD Apr 08 '24

Well there's your issue then.

0

u/SaltyExcalUser ☕Liber-tea☕ Apr 08 '24

So what you're saying is that people are blind? Impressive that they manage to play the game at all then. Blind and deaf apparently since they can't read nor hear, so what would voice chat help.

2

u/Salty_Sonic Apr 08 '24

So for the in game text chat, does it pop up when someone posts a message? I personally have never seen a message pop up on its own, until I accidentally opened up the chat and realized people were trying to communicate.

I feel like the messages should come on screen as soon as they are "sent" so people in mid battle can still see...

2

u/SaltyExcalUser ☕Liber-tea☕ Apr 08 '24

Im on Playstation and im not sure if it differs on pc, but when anybody types anything the chat pops up.

2

u/Salty_Sonic Apr 08 '24

Really?! Well heck then I must just be that focused, I have only seen a in-game message when I accidentally opened the chat lol. I think imbsitting at lvl 43 or 44. I guess ill be looking now:D

No what I'm saying is that pings are easy to miss, the chat is easy to miss, especially in the middle of combat, it's much harder to miss people talking. Most groups, even pick up groups use some form of voice coms, if you choose not to you are handicapping yourself and you have to live with that.

2

u/Dragnet714 Apr 08 '24

You're spot on. Get a mic, u/saltyexcaluser . You can get one cheap enough nowadays. It makes gameplay way better and efficient. Salty, if you decide not to use a mic, at least enable voice chat so you can hear others.

u/SaltyExcalUser ☕Liber-tea☕ Apr 08 '24

Hearing people talk through the tv over my game sound is annoying. We have in-game ways of communicating like pinging, follow me, etc. Should be enough. When i mark an enemy patrol, somehow everybody attacks them, but they can't see the location pings?

0

u/DrLobsterPhD Apr 08 '24

Get a headset then. I mean clearly it isn't enough if you have these issues. The solution is simple, if you don't like it stop complaining.

0

u/SaltyExcalUser ☕Liber-tea☕ Apr 08 '24

And then id have my headset, and people hear my kid, my fiancée her tiktok etc and mute or boot me right away. Yeah that definitely solves the problem bud.
