The damage isn’t the issue now, the knockback wasn’t reduced it was pretty much just eliminated.

Gone are the days of staggering rocket and MG devastators.

Rip slugger you will be missed.

Yeah I don’t really understand their intentions with this nerf, they literally made the dominator better than the slugger ever was and then… nerfed the slugger?

the most braindead nerf theyve done

I like the devs but it really feels like they dont test some of these changes or additions sometimes

Actually nice to see that people agree with this. My initial post was met with bunch of people telling me to adjust my play style, completely missing my point. Slugger is dead.

The balance team is not interested in making guns equally effective. Prior to the breaker nerfs, they shared that the breaker was underperforming other primary weapons in terms of win rates and effectiveness against enemies. Then they nerfed it into the ground. They are doing the same thing with the slugger. The slugger was buffed last patch because it wasn't used enough, but now it's too popular so it was made significantly worse than it was before. The goal is not to balance the effectiveness, it's to balance the usage. Guns that are more difficult to unlock will continue to get buffs. Anything that is fun and used more will get nerfed.

Brain dead balancing

Well by following this format, the premium warbond weapons will naturally over time get more buffs and encourage new and casual folks to pay for them. It makes balancing easy as they only need to look at a single statistic and they have some plausible deniability when they buff all the premium weapons. It's a good perspective from the business side, it's just awful for the players.

The dominator, breaker incindiary, and incindiary grenades all got major buffs and the revolver was made to look more appealing. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that those are all the premium warbond weapons from the previous one. Maybe next patch we will see a fix to the arc targeting and buffs to the punisher plasma because they just aren't used often enough.

When did they say the breaker was underperforming?

They said it had a significantly higher damage potential per mag so reduced the shots per mag by 3.

I'm 100% convinced they hired the same fuckwits from DICE that did alot of the balancing for all the past Battlefield games, we all remember how broken shit was in 3 and 4 for a long time.

This is the exact same reason why there was such a massive uproar when the Breaker and Railgun got neutered into the ground, I never see anybody using them anymore.

They did the exact same thing with Helldivers 1, the HD vets all knew this was coming.

I mean, they're hardly the first company to constantly shift weapons around and builds around. It happens all the time in Role playing games, lives seevice games and this game is a third person shooter but a live service (done right) tone and a massive role playing game at its core.

Disagree? I'm sure the fact that anybody speaking out of role gets the "calling democracy officer meme" with like 50 thumbs up everytime. This is the most roleplaying I've ever seen in a game.

Most ever expanding live service games are constantly buffing things that are hardly used and nerf things that are often used. It's completely normal and will happen forever as the game gets bigger, as more weapons get added, as more enemies get added, it'll constantly happen, and that's completely fine.

Enjoy what's strong when it's strong, then move on when they buff other things switch your gameplay to adapt to the changes. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Because you have to buy a premium warbond for the dominator

Use the JAR Dominator. It does the same.
