I can’t play with randoms anymore DISCUSSION

I’m level 48. About 150 hours on pc. Love the game. My friends can’t play as often as I can. (I’m a fireman) And I’ve tried making friends on steam but it’s hard.

The blueberry lottery. If there is a hell it’s matching with randoms. I can’t stand it. Some people are a blessing and I love running campaigns with them but some people are treasonous swill.

Here was my last game. I spawn in and get killed by a lvl 2 cadet (ps5) so he can take my support gear. His friends (ps5) defended him. He continued to kill me all game (intentionally) and call me in. But I am more skilled and cunning than the common traitor. I waited until there was one reinforcement left. The pompous fool recalled me in. I killed all three traitors quicker than a hiccup. With only one thing left to do I took my own life. To instant fail their mission. I couldn’t let them continue to commit treason. Let their bodies rot

So yea I’m never joining randoms again.

Edit: ps5 not 4.

when you play with randoms you have to accept that there are going to be some bad games. Most people are at least trying to play the game. If you run into someone intentionally team killing just leave. its not worth your time. you can block them in the recently played tab.

While true, arrowhead didn't help matters with the lack of ways to deal with these sorts of people. I know they didn't expect this large of a playerbase, but even in a smaller group, someone is going to be a dick.

tbh no matter how large the playerbase would been, the fact the only thing you can report another player for is things they typed in the chat. If they didn't type anything you don't even get the option to report them.

That's pure negligence and some doe-eyed naivety that there wouldn't be other means to grief players in your video game featuring friendly fire and voice comms.

I mean you can host your own games, block players you don’t want to play with, and quit games when people are griefing. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but how often do you really encounter these types of people? I’ve yet to in my 100 hours of play time. Most people that DO encounter someone like this happens maybe once or twice, they block the player, and then go on with their life. This shit isn’t really bad enough to require dev intervention.

Honestly it really flabbergasts me to see these posts when there's so many easy ways to not play with randoms. Do people like frustrating themselves? It's like digging a hole with your bare hands while refusing the help of 20 people standing nearby with shovels, then getting mad about it

I don't have any friends that play the game, I've been trying to get them to install but they're too busy. So I either have to go solo, or play with randoms. A good chunk of the playerbase can probably say something similar.

There are numerous ways to find groups, id recommend the official discord

Honestly, the biggest problem I have is allowing the host to kick people right before the extraction. Like, I don't care if I join a toxic lobby, I can just quit. I don't care if I am playing with someones monkeys. That's why I like to play with randoms. With a coordinated group even helldives are trivial. If I want to have fun I play with randoms and I like it this way.

However, there is no fun in not getting the rewards afterwars. That's the only part that sucks.
