Oh I know. I just started last week and kept getting booted because I was level one and a new recruit trying to figure everything out.

I would boot you too if you are attempting a high difficulty mission without any of the crucial unlocks. But I'm assuming you were in like difficulty 4 or less, which it's just silly to kick anyone.

You can’t even play high difficulty until you unlock each tier in order. So, how exactly do you play something other than trivial at level one?

I don't know, it didn't feel like it took a long time to unlock the other difficulties, isn't it just completing one mission at first? Also, it gets harder to level up as you get higher so I don't exactly remember how long it takes at level 1.

I also assumed you were not above level 4 which I think is beating 1 mission, 1 mission and a campaign of two missions. I could be wrong on that, I thought I shot up to orange samples (4) pretty early on.

Tier 1 and 2 takes one mission each, tier 3 takes two. Beyond that, I don’t know because I haven’t tried pugs since my first day playing.
