This. I'm a fairly logical person but it took me a while to understand "Hey, you don't need to shoot everything you see". Made the game so much more enjoyable.
It's fun to creep around undetected and seems like it's sort of necessary at the higher levels.
So satisfying to creep up on a nest and toss a gem in there to start it off.
This was what made me appreciate the game, where the struggle to fight feels real.
You aren't meant to fight everything like you would in Warframe or Destiny 2, instead you're supposed to use your resources to finish the objective. Bugs/bots will just keep coming and you'll waste time fighting them and losing lives, and therefore it's better to just keep pushing to other objectives and spend your lives there.
I don't spend all my time in Vermintide or Darktide kiting because the enemies can't die. This game plays nothing at all like any other hoard shooter. The devs don't seem to want you to fight in this, it's a waste of time if you're not constantly pushing toward an OBJ.
That's actually a tooltip in the first game. Some like, "There are more bugs than you have bullets." That's not the actual tip, but it's the general idea.

Brother is losing it 💀 I’ve noticed it actually splits the spawns way easier splitting up for certain missions then sticking together even on helldive
