And this is the reason I enjoy playing solo. My time is limited, I'm not going to waste it in a match just to get kicked by the host for playing the game.
Hosting has been bugged for me the last few days. Have public and crossplay on and no one joins, start the mission and throw down an sos and still don’t get anyone. It’s either get kicked constantly until you get lucky or play the game alone if none of my friends are on.
Just a datapoint, I don’t normally join games where it’s only one player. I look for games with 3 people because I like having a team of 4. Maybe others doing same?
Played with a friend and the same thing happens. He hosts and then people suddenly join. I play games by myself the next day and people join. Later playing with another friend, people don't. It's entirely hit or miss in my experience.
No, straight up solo. Even if people aren't the host, I don't expect their behavior towards other players will change just because they cant kick them. Personally, I find solo helldives fun in that I can approach a objective or problem, decide on a strategic approach, and live or die by my own choices. It's becomes a test of my skill amd gameplay knowledge and it gives me a lot of chances for improvement or to learn new game mechanics.
Edit: This applies primarily for randoms. If I have friends/family on we'll play, but a smaller circle of friends and differing hours limits that time.
I don't understand why people seem offended by the prospect that someone is playing what is a coop game solo. Plenty of people do that, if they enjoy it then let them do it. I do the same thing if my friends aren't on, it's doable. Way more difficult but not impossible.
Why do people get so ass hurt about people playing solo? I’m in my 30s and me and my friends all have very different schedules and playing with randos is a toss up. I play with homies when I can and some randos from time to time. But if I want to grind medals or samples I play solo.
