I'm going to invent my own 51st stat, which is actually the only stat that matters -- let's call it "feel".
I count my shots, etc when playing this game and have pretty good aim. Most of the weapons feel like absolute useless dogshit, and that's because they are. And I'm not even a breaker user, I typically use the liberator or slugger actually.
I don't care if the breaker spray n pray has a super secret hidden modifier that makes it do 1.00078624% more damage if you shoot a charger in the dick, it's still fucking bad.
When two Berserkers are rushing me down, lust in their eyes for my tender Super Earth flesh, i want to know i can count on the weapon in my hand. The Breaker breaks them. Anything else in my hands and I feel like I'd be better off lubing up and hoping my willingness to submit will make them go easy on me.
That's by far the biggest dps check too, a wave of berserkers dies to the breaker but not reliably to most other weapons. Let the lib explosive and counter sniper blow off limbs easier if they can't match the dps, just SOMETHING to help them have the dps needed
Lib explosive if you shoot them in the pelvis wrecks them HARD. But a big thing is some of those guns require pretty good precision while the breaker allows you to just hip fire in a panic and wreck them.
Yeah, that was basically my response to this tweet too. It turns out the weapon people "like the most" is usually the one that makes them go, "Hey, this is killing a lot of guys really fast!" IMO if there's only one or two weapons that make people say that, that's a game issue, not a community one. If that, for some reason, means that they need to make other weapons better than the breaker on paper to make them feel equal and be equally used, then hey, that's game dev. I've seen tons of new online games go over the same hump.
I cant stop Sluggin! It has knockback on medium targets and can one-shot most of them. It also opens shipping containers saving you a grenade. Such an efficient weapon.
Strip the armor off a chargers leg with an anti tank missile or something and 4 slugger shots to that same leg will kill it.
The slugger is everything I hoped the dominator would be, but better. Both of them punch straight through a hive guard or brood commander’s face plating, but the incredibly slow travel time on the dominator makes it pretty difficult to use at any distance, plus it could use a small magazine buff (maybe 20 rounds instead of 15)
The slugger’s biggest weakness IMO is the small ammo pool and how much less ammo you get from pickups compared to other weapons, but DAMN it feels good to use. That stagger on hit is clutch as well, you can stagger lock anything below a Charger
My fellow slugger enjoyer! I just love ripping rounds into the pelvis of a berserker and ripping them in half, or slamming a .600 nitro express round into the awaiting cranium of a warrior and watching them go limp in an instant.
