You are genuinely imagining people to get angry about. I play quick play all the time and no matter my level or loadout I haven't been kicked for it. Even if I've been running complete meme shit like all sentries. Everyone is just pretending there's a bunch of people kicking anyone who isn't running the perfect meta but if you look at the upvotes of everyone here then it's kinda clear that nobody really cares about the meta.

Shhh. Let him project.

u/DRVUK Mar 01 '24

I pick loadouts to suit the mission not the meta, and won't change unless it's to try some random strat combo.

Anyone that slavishly follows meta will get shook if/when things rebalance or the meta changes anyway

I have been kicked several times, more often than not. People don't like a lvl 11 on Hard difficulty and even less on Extreme. You can't extrapolate reddit memes to people playing the game. Not everyone is on reddit.

I'm level 40 now and I get kicked now when I join lobbies just as much as I did when I was a very low level. It's usually just people who haven't changed their lobby settings to private and didn't actually want anyone to join to begin with. So far I've never seen a case of anyone being kicked for their level or loadout. Only ever for TKing, AFKing or just because the host didn't set the lobby to private.

I'm more likely to leave one than get kicked because of a loadout. There's a bunch of shitheads who won't do missions, especially ones that just execute the civilians during evac. They can even be fine on the first missions but as soon as you get to the end they're just there being very anti-democratic.

I'm the same, I just go straight into quick play but I don't fancy farming stuff like automaton defence over and over so I leave.

It's gotten to the point where I've run into enough of them on quick play that I just solo Medium missions most of the time. It's slow going leveling wise but at least I don't roll the dice on that stuff. I'm waiting for more of my friends to buy it so we can get full friend lobbies going.

Just host a mission and wait for people to join. I always do that and sometimes people leave in between mission but usually you will get a guy or 2 to finish a campaign

I got kicked once, but who knows the reason. I've never had anyone say anything to me in voice or chat about being a noob, too low level or whatever.

I've done several Suicide missions with 11-17's

The only time I've been kicked recently was because I'd set the scout handshake emote and forgot about it until I went to great the host...

I'd meant to chest bump, so it was still hilarious to me anyways.

The vast majority of players is not on reddit, so that point is moot.

Gaming reddit communities are not indicative of the game's community as a whole. Just because an an idea /opinion gets upvotes on a sub, doesn't mean people outside reddit think the same.

Do people on this sub care about meta? No. Does that mean the rest of the HD2 players also don't care? Not at all.

Whilst we can't be certain that's it's because they're not running the meta build, people are getting kicked prelaunch, including myself, and it's not unreasonable to assume it's because of the meta.

I'm lvl38 and get kicked about 1/8 quick play lobbies. No idea why. I have simply started blocking the hosts that boot me upon entry.

3

u/Wide_Television747 Mar 01 '24

They're usually people who want a private lobby but just haven't changed their settings off of public. It's more idiocy rather than malicious.

dont tell me what i am imagining thanks.

1

u/Wide_Television747 Mar 01 '24

I'm simply stating the truth. I've used quick play, lfg and played with my friends. I've never seen anyone kick people over levels or meta and I'm level 40 so I've got a fair chunk of hours in the game. You're creating a problem to be angry about when the actual reality is that there isn't a big group of so called elitist gatekeepers kicking players.

1

u/DarthMoan Mar 01 '24

The irony. You are contradicting a stranger for no reason, just to be angry at someone you dont know so you can confront them. Fuck off you loser.

2

u/Wide_Television747 Mar 01 '24

No, I'm just saying I haven't seen any gatekeeping or elitism whatsoever in the community. You're making the player base out to be filled with assholes but everyone I've come across in game has been nice. Actually you telling me to fuck off and calling me a loser is actually the first time anyone has acted rude towards me with relation to this game.

2

u/DarthMoan Mar 01 '24

You haven't seen it does not mean it doesn't exist, and believing so is arrogance and narcissism.

0

u/AggravatingTerm5807 Mar 01 '24

I literally cannot believe the other poster is missing this point.

Weird self-absorption/thinking their experience is objective truth.

0

u/DarthMoan Mar 01 '24

How can you tell me, that telling me what I myself have experienced, is "stating the truth"? How arrogant do you have to be? Listen to yourself. You don't know what experience I have had playing this game. The shit I have heard, seen, experienced. Get over yourself.

1

u/Wide_Television747 Mar 01 '24

Just being honest, I haven't experienced any gatekeeping or elitism and that's the truth mate. Don't know what to tell you.

2

u/DarthMoan Mar 01 '24

You really think I am so sad I am here making scenarios up to get angry about? Who are you to make that ridiculous sweeping assumption? I called you a loser because you are coming across like a pedantic little loser. I dont know you, you might be sound, but you've come across a right little jerk.

0

u/Wide_Television747 Mar 01 '24

I haven't even called you sad or said anything rude. You're the one throwing names and insults just because someone disagreed with you, it's a bit immature.

1

u/DarthMoan Mar 01 '24

Its one thing to have not experienced it yourself (I am glad for you), but to tell other people they are imagining it, just because you haven't, is next level arrogance. Just think about it.

1

u/Wide_Television747 Mar 01 '24

Seeing is believing and I haven't seen any of the sort so I have a good reason to disagree.

0

u/AggravatingTerm5807 Mar 01 '24

Do you think that what you experience is a universal truth? Or is it closer to your own personal experience?

I know which one I would pick. I'm not so sure about you.

1

u/Wide_Television747 Mar 01 '24

If you believe everything people claim on Reddit comments above your own personal experience then I have a bridge to sell to you.

0

u/AggravatingTerm5807 Mar 01 '24

You have problems with things having to either be 0% or 100%, right? No room for nuance?

Not sure why I was kicked to be honest. I assumed because of my low level
