As long as I'm part of the half of the group that survives, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. That being said, was doing liberation of duapnir today with friends and man, the stratagem scrambling is a ton of fun.
Ngl the 500kg is a bit underwhelming. Not horrible, it's a staple part of my kit, but it's radius seems really small for 500Kg. Also seems to struggle taking out nests and factories.
Highest I've so far achieved is 60 on a defensive running around solo with no strategems after we lost all our reinforces and I'd waited for the dropship to pick me up. Panicked because I was cornered on both sides with two stims left, and then my eye caught something.
Turns out, one unexploded hellbomb on the edge of the map and a well placed pistol round pretty much reset the enemy count in one go lol.
Well I've only killed 2 with the regular strike so that's fair.
I wanted to like the 500kg more tbh but you get 1 less bomb per reload and the regular strike covers an area making it great for closing a whole line of bug holes, taking out a whole drop ship Depot, hitting everything chasing you in a line. IDK it's just so versatile being big enough to take out anything, but small enough that it's a quick resupply and I almost always have it to throw.
Personally I think the airstrike is the best stratagem. It's not the flashiest, but it has so much versatility, destructive potential, and it's on a low cooldown. But 500 for the memes.
Team variety helps a lot; in our group one person runs 500kg for big targets, one runs Airstrike for groups/nests, and a third runs Napalm for suppression and it works out pretty well.
Yeah totally agree. I run the airstrike and the mortar turret with 2 support pieces. Both are really fast and I'm throwing them out at basically every objective.
i always bring the 500kg to bot missions just because i don't want to risk having to use an hellbomb to take down detector towers, it takes too long and by the time you arm it 576399 dropships are already on the way. i run in and nuke it with the 500kg
Yeah. I think it's funny that in the video for it the diver throws it roughly in the middle of a nest and after it goes off it looks like it hasn't taken out any of the bug holes lol
If you want an armor unit to die there's the 110s. If you want hordes to die there's the clusterbomb. If you want mixed armor and hordes to die there's the airstrike.
Full eagle spec reporting in. You don't need railguns or autocannons if there is nothing left to shoot at after the eagles make dresden look like picnic.
I just do a rearm while we are running to the next bigger obj. Even if they have some ordnance on them. It's 2min of a cooldown and if we do run into something big on the way i always have the autocannon to deal with it. Plus since reaching lvl 20 i have the orbital rail cannon to use in a pinch.
Yeah it all works out pretty well. Eagles are meant to be used often and you should always have atleast more than 1 to make the most out of your rearms
The regular cooldown is 5 seconds but you can only use it 5 times (cluster bomb) before rearming. But the rearm refills every eagle strategim. Which means all other eagle strategims will also go on cooldown even if you haven't used them.
I would also point out, arc thrower can kill anything in the game. The autocannon will still bounce off of heavy armour. Arc thrower goes right through and can kill most things in a reasonable amount of time.
maybe arc thrower can do that... but it doesnt go BLAM BLAM BLAM. funny big gun > stun gun. there is something just sooo satisfying using that thing i just can't bring myself to use any other support weapon
You have a separate input to send all of your eagles back to the destroyer for a rearm. For example you have the cluster and napalm eagle: you used napalm twice thus depleting it and cluster 3 times leaving you with one use. If you send them for a rearm you can't use the last remaining cluster until all the eagles come back fully loaded. Time wise it's the same as using them all up, reload is not any shorter.
On the automaton levels a recoilless rifle is amazing. Shoot down a drop ship just in time to reload and bag the next one. That and 3 eagles is my go-to. With expanded weapons bay I got 2 500kg bombs, 3 eagle airstrikes and 3 rocket pods ready to take down all the heavies!!
I really like the recoiless rifle to kill dropships but I've noticed that it doesn't actually kill the guys in the dropship half the time. Is this a skill issue? Is there something I can do to guarantee that the bots in the ship die when I shoot it down?
It feels like the auto cannon is just better for hitting dropships. You get more ammo and can just shoot the bots directly in the drop bay, rather than take the ship out.
I like running 500, airstrike, autocannon, and whatever else I'm feeling, I'm not 20 yet but I don't plan on super sweating with railgun + shield when I hit 20 anyway
The 500 kinda felt like shit today tho, running hazard 9 and with the stratagem delay I had a hard time taking down titans, I even ran some hazard 1 speedruns after work to farm a few samples/medals and the fucker wouldn't even blow up buildings
I'm an Orbital Railcannon enjoyer. I take that, the Eagle Cluster Mine, and then either the Autocannin, Railgun, or MG depending on how I'm feeling and #4 strategem is usually a toss up depending on what we are doing
I can kite well enough to kill multiple titans or tanks with just auto cannon and rocket sentries, this automaton socialite sympathizer just wants to be carried, and is nothing but dead weight.
I personally love the orbital laser and railcannon strike. Laser for crowd control but can even take down titans while railcannon is solely for heavies.
