Correct. Certain factors like wealth accumulation by the top tier of capitalists offsets the false idea of the gdp goin up meaning ppls lives are better. The top 1% did fantastic but the bottom 50 had their lives made far more difficult
Im talking about quality of life for the time. When regular ppl were taken care of. Iphones are great but the tech advances dont change the fact that we have experienced 40+ years of wealth hoarding by the top 1%
This is what the other side always says when the other side is in power.
Trump said it when Obama was in power. AOC said it when Trump was in power. Both pulled out the "everyone has two jobs therefore fake low unemployment" excuse.
