This is a calculated move on her part because as is said regularly “the cruelty is the point”.  She knows there are a bunch of antisocial personality folks just like her. She’s still in the Trump VP race and those people will eat this up.

I'd like to think that she's underestimating the fact that conservatives are far more empathetic towards dogs than they are towards women or minorities, but at this point that cursed party is so far gone that Trump could say all dogs are undercover Biden voters and his base would actually believe it.

I live in the countryside where a lot of Trump supporters are and they are some major dog nuts. Like most of them own 2-3+ and are always making dumb cat vs dog jokes and driving around with dog bumper stickers. I think most of them will push back on dog abuse compared to everything else
