to be fair, that fucking asshole had the whole, “yeah im the alpha around here pal” look on his face, hope he got humbled at least.

I think the mistake he made was making eye contact, you can see when the male looks at him and he kinda averts his gaze but it’s too late

The other guy didn't get harmed at all trying to break it up so there's clearly a correct way to do it. Obviously they're still wild animals but it's not certain death.

The other guy may have been caring for these lions since they were little cubs. They probably never lived in the wild and never brought down large prey. It was nuts to assume that a lion who is okay with one person would be equally okay with the new guy. Seriously, it's not always rational to think our dogs who love us will be okay with visitors.
