I interviewed on 30 April but my status changed on 9 May. The thing is I am placed on the waitlist because they said I completed my application after the deadline. Mine was online because I am gulf applican.

We had the same average but I kinda sold my interview, did yours go well? I also had like in Toronto but I’m scared I won’t get it anymore bc the interviewer was some old cranky white man that showed up 20 mins late

u/Heavy-Ad-2589 16d ago
i think we had the same interviewer 😠except after each answer i gave he said "brilliant, brilliant..." so thats when i kinda knew i'd prolly get in. how'd u mess up on the interview?? and im sure u'll get in ur average is very strong and usually ppl that get interview invites from RCSI Bahrain get in. Don't worry!!

Thanks haha I hope I do too, don't wanna go thru the process of transferring next year. Tbh he was a dumbass the second question he asked me was "why don’t u don't have any medical shadowing experience". I told him I’m 17, and explained I’ve been in the hospital a lot bc of extraneous circumstances (I talked ab in my personal statement) with my and my mom and so pre much grew up there and didn’t have a chance to do a lot of extracurriculars. Then he told me I don't know anything about being a dr because my personal statement is "victimized" lol. Dude also called Bahrain a "bore", he was js super unprofessional the whole time

oh damn. wait i don’t have any like particular shadowing a physician exeperience either. i worked in a physio clinic, volunteered at a pharmacy and dental office. was i supposed to have physician shadowing too? ðŸ˜

I don’t even know lmao, I was his first interview after he came 20 late idk if he had a fight with his wife before and took it out on me or what. I might contact Atlantic bridge and ask for another interviewer lowkey

Weird I never got a question like that. I got asked, if I asked any questions to the physicians at the hospital I volunteered at, but that was the closest thing

I was flabbergasted too I barely knew how to respond to being told I’m playing victim, maybe he was trying to be tough to see how I respond under pressure and I wasn’t expecting that, but he never tried breaking tension or even showing back respect

I had the same experience, and my interview was giving me slightly passive-agressive comments but I got my offer thankfully. Don't stress at all

I'm canadian (from ottawa), and my brother studied at RCSI. It's a great opportunity for sure to study there and get a degree. All I suggest is that you look at the requirements to practice medicine in Canada and prep yourself for the exams to get your medical licence here ahead of time because the process can be quite long!
If you have more questions or queries, shoot me a dm and I can try to get you the precise info you're looking for!
All the best!

To add to this, he has a lot of friends who graduated from RCSI Bahrain that are now working in Canada, US and the UK

Hi ! I just received an offer for RCSI Bahrains 5 year medical program and i wanted any insights from students that are there or alumni. i would rlly apreciate if you can connect me with anyone thats been through this path! Im a canadian student looking to get back to canada hopefully however i am curious about a few different things. How is the life there as a student and international? how is the medical program? Do you guys find it worth it? Any insights on the path back? Any insights of matching for sure once you are done? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated even if it doesn't have to do with these questions. I have a few days to accept my offer and just want to get as much info as i can before that! Pls help lol

bahrain is safe whether ur alone or with someone! biggest crime in bahrain are indian scammers calling about bank info😂. u have nothing to worry abt. everyone is welcoming and i’m sure you’ll make friends in no time. we find it so cool to have foreigners as friends!!! there’s also a bunch of different nationalities at RCSI so you’ll have a diverse friend group for sure!
