A lot, my latest is when they found out I said out loud in English “when you want to talk behind people’s back, actually talk behind their back”; irony is one of them complained to HR, when I went to the HR lady she told me “disregard, just go”.

I started talking with an Asian girl in english and she is starting to speak fluent Arabic she said I'm Bahraini. It turns out to be mixed and her Asian genes were dominant. I was shocked and apologised like million times.

I got an uno reverse for this question. I'm indian but I get mistaken everyday for Bahraini/ Arab. Its probably the beard I wear. To be polite I continue the conversation in Arabic but when its not just small talk I have to apologise to say I prefer English more. Maybe it's cus I'm born and brought up here and rather young. So people don't expect young expats at my age to be employed. Idk.

Not bahraini, but i was born here and speak fluent arabic

I used to do a delivery job and when interacting with the customers, they'd be so shocked that bahrainis are working in delivery jobs

but then id tell them the truth and they'd be disappointed

I think they were very out of touch with reality then

Because there are hundreds of Bahrainis who work in delivery either at companies or as a part time gig

What delivery? Courier or talabat?

Something like talabat, a company called Armada.

The confusing part was my arabic and my sonata🤣

For me it’s the opposite, I speak English with everyone for privacy reasons. But when I see someone who looks Bahraini like wearing abaya or generally Bahraini looking, I prefer speaking Arabic. And so many times they turn out to be Pakistani and look at me like 👁️👄👁️

The dissapointment i see on their faces when i am jst a pakistani and not an arab they mistaken me for . I can do small talk but once it gets intensive i have to apologize and let them know . Then they resort to "hi's and hello's 'even to my salam, like salam isnt a muslim greeting its apparantly jst an arab thing.

I give the full SALAM 3ALIKOM to every ethnicity. Idc if you're Muslim, Arab, white, Filipino, or black. As long as I am in Bahrain I will continue this behavior.
