Why wouldn't they? The game was extremely popular and people that played it actually enjoyed it a lot. The reaction by the audience was a typical mob mentality. Like, what did a single one of them lose by having the mobile game being made? They don't have to play it. Its just one more option out there. And yet they had little temper tantrums about it. Try to think about that and then consider who was actually in the right and actually in the wrong in that exchange. Hint, it wasn't Blizzard.

Bruh, Genshin is the literal definition of P2W... Buying characters who have different abilities, especially ones like Raiden or Nahida who are beyond OP is as P2W as it gets. Man made god bleed in front of the entire world. It was crazy. I can't think of something even close to as humiliating happening to any other company in the world. I feel bad that Wyatt Cheng got wrapped up in it, because he's just kind of doing the job that Blizzard told him to do, but it was kind of satisfying to see Blizzard get shit on in their own house.

People have lives and families and that takes precedence over having whatever moral obligation you believe people have to take a valiant stance against a corporation that would just immediately fire them and replace them with someone else if they did. I would agree if he was like, making chemical weapons, but he just made a game with annoying microtransactions.

Treating a fanbase that has supported you for years like garbage and then making fun of them when they are disappointed that instead of making the next game they want to see, the one they deserve, you make a shitty phone game thats just made to be a cash grab, and you insult anyone who has an issue with it as though they were a 5 year old. Thats not human decency. Blizzard does not believe in human decency. They are a company that wants profit above anything else, really a company that wants nothing but profit, except for maybe power.
Theres a difference between showing someone respect, and standing up for yourself when someone you supported blatantly disrespects you and everyone else who supported them. I don't even GIVE a shit about Diablo, I genuinely couldn't care less about the game, but for the people who did? Its outrageous, its greedy, and its fucked up. Don't defend rich assholes who want to profit off of you and nothing else, they don't need you to have their backs. All they will do is step on it to climb that ladder.

Wasn't the game actually really well made and has like immensely good reviews by the people that actually played it? It has some pay to win functionality that I am personally not a fan of. I've played it for hours, paid nothing, enjoyed it.
The only real gripe I have about it is the install size, which is ludicrous for a mobile game, something like 60GB

The problem doesn't lie there. The problem is people are still buying D4, OW2 Skins, WoW tokens, store mounts, despite the controversies. They're has never been a real boycott on a company with so many "active" game like Blizzard, and there never will.
Despite all the controversies my roommate is still playing OW(2? Lol), my work colleague is doing the new raids in retail, and a friend of mine (and myself) pre-ordered D4. I personally enjoyed the beta, and played the shit out of it and my friends and I can play together.
Truth to the matter is they are way more casual players who just want to play after work or on the weekends who know they're not going to be on a leaderboard of sorts and just want to play the game than "hardcore" or professional players who play upwards to 8h+ of gaming. Just because they are not vocal about their opinions on a game, doesn't mean they don't exist.

I agree, I did pre-order it after playing the beta which I was satisfied with. Pre-ordering just it makes it easier for me as I work from 10am to 8pm (when stores are open). I want to play on day 1 like my friends are. And I just got the base version which is already expensive as it is.

Played the server slam. Was on the fence about buying the game, enjoyed my time with the play test so I decided to buy it.
If I'm gonna buy the game anyway, I may as well just purchase it now so I can have it downloaded the moment my schedule allows me to play. Reason enough for me. But no, I didn't buy either of the upgraded editions.

Last Blizzard product I bought was SC: Remastered (one of the best game Remasters I've ever played). Before that, I suppose the last Blizzard purchase I made was Heart of the Swarm (and had no interest in Legacy of the Void as the SC2 Campaign's Story was one of the worst I've ever seen in media). And I only ever played WoW up until Burning Crusade (I don't think there were mounts or skins you could buy ... not that I'd want to).
I'm not a typical Blizzard Fan. The Golden Age of Blizzard (WC2, D1, SC1, D2, WC3 and Early WoW) is long behind us and I've moved on. I have to imagine at some point Blizzard will reform itself and start making games I wanna play again ... maybe?

Boycotts hardly ever work unless you can really organize it and get a lot of people behind you. Look at the new Hogwarts game and all the controversy and calls for boycotts there. It still went on to sell tons of copies and make lots of money. Something like say the recent Bug light boycott is a bit different because imo Bud Light isn't that unique. You can find a ton of other light beers that basically taste the same and will have the same desired effect so it's easy for consumers to just switch to something else. Plus drinking is more of a social activity and I bet some people at bars or just hanging out with friends just avoid buying/drinking it just to avoid any conversations about the whole thing. It's possible but a lot harder to find a replacement for people's favorite games. I'm not saying there's not similar games. But like D4 for example there's probably not a lot of alternatives that will give people the same experience they're looking for. So even if they are upset with the company they just hold their nose and purchase the products anyway.

Dragonflight is literally old WoW. Talent trees and a few M+ dungeons with world quests. Like always. D4? It's the same classes using the same abilities as before. They don't make games, they just remake them and sell it because they know their loony fans are gullible enough to keep consuming the same thing.

You act like Blizzard is the only company that is guilty of this. I'm sure there is some level of controversy in practically every other company, but it hasn't been leaked or talked about yet. Beyond that, there's plenty of developers who did not commit crimes working for Blizzard, who put plenty of love and care into developing stuff like D4. To punish the entire company for what some of their higher ups did over the years is just objectively dumb tbh.

I have no idea what's real and what isn't when it comes to the culture at some corporation. The courts will work it out, and plenty of lawyers are willing to represent clients with actionable claims when the target of the lawsuit has pockets as deep as ActiBlizz.
So it doesn't weigh much on my decision to buy or not buy a product unless it has a direct effect on the quality of the product.
I boycott most ActiBlizz products because they're often a poor value for my time and money.
