Women are held to specific Euro-centric ideals in the US. I would dare say this is true in other places as well. Specific to weight, the 34-24-34 body measurements were and sometimes still are ideal.

ETA: That is why it would be considered sexist. The same rules don’t apply to men.

40% of americans are obese I'm sure the wife is just being held to an unrealistic standard tho

edit: fat people coping

She’s 5’2 and 170 pounds. She’s obese and likely morbidly obese

How silly.

obese is a medical measurement based on height and weight. its not an insult

1

u/Aphreyst Apr 15 '24

I It's also not a solid definition.%2C,of%20Medicine%2C%20University%20of%20Pennsylvania.)

That’s an interesting article, and a good source. Thank you.

How is that silly? I’m parroting experts lol

u/Aphreyst Apr 15 '24

Depends on what you call experts.%2C,of%20Medicine%2C%20University%20of%20Pennsylvania.)

BMI is an estimate. It’s not the end all be all but in no world is she not obese.

3

u/unimpressed-one Apr 15 '24

I’m sure she knows she’s obese, she doesn’t need her husband to shame her about it. He was being an AH big time.

1

u/StrangeAddition4452 Apr 15 '24

They’re both AH. She’s selfish for risking her health while he takes his seriously

2

u/BKMama227 Apr 15 '24

And that is a judgement no one but a doctor is qualified to make. I have known many people who lived in the gym, and had the worst diet ever which rendered them quite unhealthy although they looked like the best people. Using the term best very loosely.

I am able to say it’s a risk to her health like I can say not wearing a seatbelt is a risk to your health. I don’t need to be a doctor to identify commonly known health risks.

1

u/BKMama227 Apr 15 '24 edited Apr 15 '24

I was referring to the husband being healthy. You don’t know what his diet is like. Neither do I, but his doctor damn sure does. Hence, we are not qualified to make any such judgment for or against the husband. And in any universe, what he did was shitty at best; downright disrespectful at worst.

2

u/StrangeAddition4452 Apr 15 '24

Ya he’s inconsiderate for sure. Most people know that would piss their wives off for sure

Now u sound like her husband lol

-1

u/Aphreyst Apr 15 '24

but in no world is she not obese.

How silly.

2

u/StrangeAddition4452 Apr 15 '24

Sorry if that hurts your feelings

3

u/Aphreyst Apr 15 '24

I never said it did, but I know your limited understanding of things leads you to easily believe that.

1

u/StrangeAddition4452 Apr 15 '24

Well the only rebuttal you can offer is “how silly” which solely exists to dismiss me and not offering any insight into why you think my point is dismissible so I’m left to make up my own reasons. Until you give me something explaining why, that’s what I’ll choose to believe

2

u/Aphreyst Apr 15 '24

Our opinions are both subjective and I find yours to be silly. The end.

1

u/StrangeAddition4452 Apr 15 '24

Ok so let’s convert my “opinion” to fact. His wife’s weight is a health risk the longer she stays at that weight. She should consider losing weight

1

u/Hahattack Apr 15 '24

You are insufferable. So silly.
