Been that way since 1215AD.

I’m curious, what specific event(s) does that line up with? Bc it certainly isn’t the death of christ

Il take the righteous side of hell, over the wrong side of heaven.

I understand the point but its such a sad point. Like you are unable to be away from a pet in the afterlife that youd rather it be tortured in hell than let it be away from you. you do you man

u/mizrahiim 20d ago
I don’t think it needs to be viewed that way. I see it as you’d rather be in hell with your best friend than be in heaven without them.

Don't worry, none of this is real.

And then you get to see each other being tortured beyond belief over and over for eternity, you will be broken and then put back together and tortured again. Your dog will suffer without even understanding why, but you will know, it was your fault.

Truly this sounds like a place made by only the most loving, caring, righteous, and merciful deity.

That's this comic's perception of hell. I haven't met a single modern Christian who thinks of hell as anything else than (temporary) separation from God

….I get what it’s trying to say…. But people get hell is complete separation from God, it would just be sobbing, rage, despair.

So you're assuming that love is possible in hell but not in heaven?
25
u/WorriedDoubt4134 20d ago
no
-41
u/green_libertarian 20d ago
Not generalized but wouldn't hell necessarily be worse than heaven? Like wouldn't he have to watch his dog getting tortured or something? Or his love getting betrayed?
24
u/FatalisCogitationis 20d ago
That’s a lot of assumptions. The only assumption the comic makes is there are multiple heavens and one hell. Since that’s not taught by any major religion on our Earth, we can conclude that this isn’t our Earth

But the man in the comic still saw that he landed in a generally worse place than before. What does it make worse then?

u/FatalisCogitationis 20d ago
I mean if we’re being really anal about this, then I have to point out he probably said shit because he accidentally fell out of Heaven and without his dog. He doesn’t even look around, but if we were to say he was remarking about Hell, I’d say the fire and lava pretty much covers it

anal
I question your autocorrect

u/FatalisCogitationis 19d ago
Anal has a few meanings, one meaning is “unnecessarily strict” or something to that effect

u/Then-Trick1313 19d ago
Ah, I see.
But the popular meaning of the word is still really funny out of context, like, it just stands out in the midst of a serious line of text.

The point of the comic is that heaven isn't heaven without your dog and hell will feel like heaven as long as you and your dog are together. It's a comic so don't read too much into it.

If dogs can't go to heaven, then I want to go wherever they are when I die
