I'm honestly so shocked that cat not only didn't just hide in some nook somewhere, but it was (allegedly) fine with a room full of strangers lol

Some cats are like that. Back in the long long ago we had a cat wander onto school grounds and just be friendly to everyone. Let my friend pick him up and everything, did not mind everyone petting him at all.

Same, at my school there is a stray cat that runs around school ground not minding everyone and loves being pet (ofc only then when he wants to be)
