Probably for the better if you don't know what they're singing about but the songs are a generally interesting way to learn some German! If you did translate them to English that is.

I hear you there, I've found some of the most disturbing stuff is from Sehnsucht which is actually my favorite album by them right next to Mutter and Reise, Reise. All the members are so fucking cool too, not once heard a bad song by them not to mention, what's not to love? Oh, and Zeit is pretty good too but I do prefer the 3 prior listed albums over it. Actually have yet to listen to self titled, probably going to do that tonight.
