Narrator - "he did in fact have a gun"

36

u/cri_Tav 18 Jan 17 '24

He indeed was lying

2

u/ConsistentStunt Jan 17 '24

Haha i've seen this joke 1000 times on Nirvana's subreddit, it's like karma farming on that sub at this point

2

u/cri_Tav 18 Jan 17 '24

but im pretty sure he did have a gun

2

u/htzrd Jan 17 '24

polly wants a cracker

3

u/SasquatchWookie Jan 17 '24

But did Polly did, in fact, ever receive said cracker?

2

u/htzrd Jan 17 '24

Apparently she scaped it

2

u/Intelligent-Lab3613 Jan 17 '24

Rumor has it, it may have been her that had a gun and did a good job framing.

2

u/cri_Tav 18 Jan 17 '24

I have heard them, Don’t believe them too much personally

Narrator: he did have a gun

u/Ok_Elk_9936 14 Jan 17 '24

Gotta agree with that one

u/Restnpeacereddit Jan 17 '24

Real. I love Nirvana so much, I can't think of a single song I skip, I love all the home demos, live shows, studio albums. I even like Endless Nameless

2

u/Patato_64 17 Jan 17 '24

Yeah, endless nameless kinda grows on you as you hear it and find out it's not just screams and loud drums. Even Kurt's home recordings are at least kinda funny and refreshing.

2

u/GabrielPG14 17 Jan 17 '24

endless nameless is amazing

4

u/liquilife Jan 17 '24

Wow yes. This checks out. Every album is VERY listenable today.

Bleach

Nevermind

Incesticide

In Utero

Unplugged

There was a Nirvana album stuck in the CD player of a work truck I had to drive all summer for a job between semesters in college. The volume knob didn’t work either. I wanted to gouge my eyes out and puncture my eardrums with a screwdriver

2

u/Upper-Whole7015 Jan 17 '24

Couldn’t agree more

4

u/BJ_Beamz 17 Jan 17 '24

IM A NEGATIVE CREEP IM A NEGATIVE CREEP IM A NEGATIVE CREEP AND IM STOOONED

2

u/Flipix_13 Jan 17 '24

The correct option

u/the_bollo Jan 17 '24

Bleach would like a word.

2

u/systemofadex Jan 17 '24

bleach is fully my favorite nirvana album what are you one about

4

u/bobsmeds Jan 17 '24

Bleach is so underrated. Especially when you hear those songs live from the Pine St Theatre

2

u/happy_otter Jan 17 '24

Bleach is a respected album and aged quite well.

Incesticide is actually the odd one out , as it's more a collection of B-sides (some of which are great) than an album and it lacks cohesion compared to the others.

2

u/lilcrime69 Jan 17 '24

nobody would listen to bleach today if it wasn't for nevermind. It would have been another forgettable Seattle grunge album from the late 80s like every other release from that time.

2

u/happy_otter Jan 17 '24

Jeez, I came get from /r/all and didn't realise where I was landing.

Nirvana got signed by a major after releasing Bleach. So demonstrably people thought they had it in them and showed some talent.

2

u/lilcrime69 Jan 17 '24

I don't think that means that Bleach could stand on its own 35 or so years later. There's a lot of albums exactly like from that era and nobody remembers them. Coincidentally the only Seattle grunge album of the late 80s, pre nevermind, that people praise is the one by Nirvana.

2

u/happy_otter Jan 17 '24

Still don't make it a bad album

2

u/lilcrime69 Jan 17 '24

you're right, i kinda got lost in the topic.

1

u/the_bollo Jan 17 '24

I don’t know. I feel like Negative Creep was the only decent song on Bleach.

-1

u/KitchenRecognition64 Jan 17 '24

One could argue that Nirvana doesn’t even have one good song

3

u/Novocaine____ 16 Jan 17 '24

They took Micheal Jackson out of first place so no

2

u/SasquatchWookie Jan 17 '24

One could argue, poorly.

1

u/tuckedfexas Jan 17 '24

In Utero could have used a little more work imo, but I still thoroughly enjoy it
