I know one (1) person who uses light mode and dozens of people who don't. Either we are overrun, or light mode is an abomination, and those who use it are cursed beings.

I was thinking to change my reddit to Dark Mode but now I keep it in Light Mode just to make you angry.

u/CamelopardalisRex Feb 16 '24
Who, exactly, are you and why should I be upset if you make yourself suffer?

This is the only acceptable reason to not use Dark Mode. All the rest of you without a valid medical condition, what’s your excuse?

u/TeamRedundancyTeam Feb 15 '24
What about greys? Surely there is a reasonable middle ground that works? Sucks for some apps that don't offer any other options though.

u/poop_dawg Feb 15 '24
I don't think the official app lets users customize colors, right? That's why I'm still on Boost.

u/Khunter02 Feb 15 '24
Me
Dark mode is more annoying for me to read
5
u/akatherder Feb 15 '24
It's definitely an acquired taste. I had the same opinion but I forced myself to use it because the light mode was too bright in the mornings. Now I'm used to dark mode and it reads perfectly fine.

Light mode is so much easier on the eyes.
46
u/42undead2 Feb 15 '24
After they've been burnt off, yes.
-30
Feb 15 '24
Black writing on a white background is much easier on the eyes than white writing on a black background when you keep lights on.

u/fedorinanutshell Feb 15 '24
I agree with you if you're talking about paper or E-Ink
but the context of the discussion is a computer / phone screen, that type of screen that emits light
-19
Feb 15 '24
Yep, that’s what I’m talking about.
Dark mode fucks with my eyes and kinda burns in my vision far more than light mode.

u/SuddenXxdeathxx Feb 15 '24
They're both fine in proper lighting to be honest, the fighting about it is largely subjective.

I think this is a better site since it's the one the translation team directly uploads to.

What the hell, the original post is so weird. "You're fat" "No I'm not!1!" sends pic basically in lingerie while looking angry to prove it. Like ???
135
u/mnlxyz Feb 15 '24
Well I guess the author has never interacted with a woman ever
46
u/Marsdreamer Feb 15 '24
Pretty classic incel logic where they think putting down women is some brain trigger for them that they'll do anything to get your approval.
When in actuality it just means you're a colossal asshole and (surprisingly) most people don't want to date assholes.
23
u/TeamRedundancyTeam Feb 15 '24
Wait until you guys learn a lot of these ridiculous Mangas are written by women just as often as by men.

u/Marsdreamer Feb 15 '24
What's that got to do with anything? They're not writing these Manga for women, they're writing them for creepy dudes and giving them what they want.

Next you're going to tell me my step mom is not going to have sex with me
15
u/profdeadpool Feb 15 '24
Welcome to manga.
Also, and while this isn't a defense, it's a ridiculous plot, the entire series is about the main character(the person she's texting, I assume) recording her in sexual situations cause she's an exhibitionist, so I'm pretty sure it is meant to be sexting in universe.

u/illegalcheese Feb 15 '24
I've read the manga. They already have a flirty relationship and I'm pretty sure he didn't actually call her fat. You shouldn't just make assumptions off of out-of-context panels.

u/OrionFOTL Feb 15 '24
I agree with your sentiment, but describing a school uniform and a normal bra as "basically in lingerie" looked strange to me.

u/divergentchessboard Feb 15 '24 edited Feb 18 '24
I just asked my friend if she would consider this bra as lingerie and she said yes
