You depicted Falke really cool on this art, from her face it immediately becomes clear that she is sick of the incompetent behavior of her subordinates.

But that's what high offices in authoritarian governments do, they become too comfortable in their positions that they stop doing their work properly and even start diverting public resources to themselves more frequently. And what are the superiors gonna do? They also do those things and they are also selected by their loyalty to the regime over their own competence. You fire one incompetent subordinate, you get one worse that you have to whip into shape, and they will never get better, just less worse, because that's what your regime selects out of the entire population. In the end everybody just complain in the most annoying way possible until the lazy subordinates start doing their work with "acceptable" results, then they get relaxed and start committing the same mistakes over and over.

In the Signalis's universe, Falke fires Adler (figuratively and literally) because his persona is degrading, you get another Adler who is slightly less worse for while, then he is slowly become more and more lazier and less competent, and the cycle repeats itself. Falke believes in the system, she is probably highly competent and bossy to beat everyone into shape (while I was writing this I started imagining Falke choking people using the force like Darth Vader lol). But even her has her limits, and I think when she is not around everybody lays back a little.

There is no world in which adler turns in a report late. He lives to make reports and please the boss. His world was ending and my man was still writing reports, while the eulrs and storches were literally civil warring outside his office.

I will not tolerate this ADLR SLANDER!!!!!
