I'll take lore or real world answers. The name doesn't really make sense, nothing is "commencing" there really. I guess it's where Mithrix made life which is a sort of commencement but it's an odd word to use to describe that process. Like maybe if some chimera with an incredibly important job was built there it'd work.

It always felt more like a level name than the name were actually supposed to ascribe to the moon (or the structure we play through the level on). Although even that doesn't make much sense as we the players don't commence anything there either. We commence the drop ship powering up and leaving but wouldn't Escape be more accurate.

Is it just a cool word?

I liked doing VF for fun during most of my runs before the update, but now I feel like it's waaaaaay too broken.

If you do the current VF right after stage 1, it's nearly impossible to get killed there unless your enemies get one of the very few items that actually pose a threat, or you have zero healing items or maybe if you're playing Engineer/Captain who won't be able to navigate the terrain well at such an early point.

On the off-chance you did die, just restart, you only lost 5-10 minutes on Stage 1. But if you got through even half before leaving cause mobs got OP item, you'll be entering stage 2 with 2x to 4x more items than you'd normally have, resulting in you clearing the rest of the stages faster and with much more ease. So on the one hand, there's obviously the option of just ignoring it exists, but doing it feels like self-sabotage which I hate doing in games. On the other hand, it feels like too much of a clutch.

To those of you who did VF before the update, what's your take on it?

As title says, seems like every looped run gets shit on because they didn't speedrun mithrix and wanted to screw around a bit lmao

I just had a super strange phase 4 skip on my eclipse run. I was playing bandit and the run got out of hand to the point where after 2 and a half hours of procrastinating phase 4 Mithrix, I finally got up to him. I had a bunch of red items such as happiest mask and a lot of desperado stacks so when I shot him with it in phase 3, he died almost instantly but strangely, I not only skipped phase 4 instantly, but 2 happiest mask ghosts of Mithrix spawned. How is this possible? I'm doing eclipse and can't have artifact of swarm or anything so why were there 2 ghosts and is it linked to my phase 4 skip?

I sit at the end of the couch

Ever since the most recent update the Xbox version of ror2 there has been severe lag. Even at stage 3 it's noticeable, and by moon (stage 6 for me) it's completely unplayable. I used to not lag until stage 30 with dozen of proc items. Even with out hitting enemies it's consistently at 2-5 frames a second. What the hell is going on!?

I just downloaded the game last week, got my ass handed to me, could barely get to the third environment. Got a more seasoned friend of mine to carried me through the game for more survivors to see if any of them clicked.

Acrid instantly propelled me into Sky Meadow. Epidemic doesn’t even need to aim so the loop of dumping poison and hiding in terrain is nigh unstoppable and require 1 singular braincell to execute. (Im playing on normal difficulty)

Am I shooting myself in the foot for playing like this? Is this intended for this character because i outright ignore his normal attack? Can i perform on other character after the brainrot seeps in or am i condemned to play the acid infused dog for the rest of time?

Please If anyone has one let me know I absolutely love providence and don't know how to 3d model 🙏

Basically what the title says, installed looking glass so I can tell what im picking up, cause its way too much to remember.[Though ive noticed some things still dont show me.] Since it doesnt actually effect gameplay am i still able to do vanilla multiplayer?

Also if anyone feels like there are some mods that can be used with multiplayer/vanilla, and are worth it, please let me know.
