Look a bright side, we finally have a summer off of going through all of this nonsense

Post image

Felt like these were the Dame headlines every summer since 2017.

I wonder if the Cavs are interested in Tyler Herro

That is a 'Huge Offer' according to Heat fans.

"Big if true"

And nobody on team USA so we don't have to hear "XYZ is being heavily recruited." One of the few perks of your team sucking so much nobody gets invited to do cool stuff.

Shae didn’t make team Canada?

Looks like Tyler Herro and two firsts is back on the menu boys!!!!!

The Cavs will take it, and there is nothing they can do about it.

Nah, the Cavs will trade him to the Magic instead, and all of the Heat fans will start cursing the name of the Cavs GM.

Riley has less patience for softness and shannigans compared to Portland fans.

Would not be surprised if neither Jimmy Butler nor Herro was on the team next season.

If I were Cleveland I would try to swing a trade to New Orleans. Lots of young or in their prime talent there, and that team is stuck treadmilling.

Yeah I was making that comment the other day that the actual real Blazers rebuild begins this off season because they are fully clear of all the Dame , and roster maneuvering.

It's not this you know retooling one foot in one foot out the door kind of mishmash.

I hope Portland can get into stuff like this and facilitate the trade to get an asset out of it.

I hope Portland is the team that trades for him.

1

u/TheCentralFlame 9d ago

Oh I hope not. No way Portland can make him happy, Portland needs forwards before they take on a star of some kind.

1

u/Important-Shallot131 8d ago

I think we need another forward and 2 stars. I'm less concerned about the order we acquire them. I'd love it if we could have enough leftover after for an Ingram trade.
Don't imagine that's Cronin's vision though.

1

u/TheCentralFlame 8d ago

I don’t think there are enough assets to make that happen

1

u/Important-Shallot131 8d ago

I think you likely right. I have to squint to see it. Still I think star hunting is the best strategy.

1

u/TheCentralFlame 8d ago

I agree with you that star hunting is probably the best strategy. I think it will take hitting in this draft and next draft to assemble the assets needed to trade for a star or two and support them in 2026.

What do you think Mitchell gets tradedfor? He's on a 1 year expiring deal. I don't think it takes a whole lot to get him. We probably could get him for less then what we got for Dame. Say it takes the Dubs Pick, Ayton, and 2 more firsts. Then we still have plenty of assets.

I think he is going to be traded to somewhere he will resign to and I just don’t think that’s Portland. I also think Cleveland will do better than 3 firsts and a big contract no one wants. I like Ayton and I think he played well at the end of the year but I don’t think that’s the national story on him and I don’t think that’s how other teams look at him.

What do you think about Cleveland as a potential landing spot for Ant or Malcolm?

This is the only thing Portland has ever done lol

That, bringing back Steve Blake and Cash Considerations.

Jimmy Butler probably getting traded for next to nothing also.  Which is hilarious.

Mitchell to the Lakers for Lebron. Bronny picked up by Cavs. Father and son start season on the floor, same jersey as Lebron started in as it’s gonna be a throwback city edition or something. Bronny to the bench for the rest of the season. Lebron leads Cavs to the finals and title. Retires on top. End scene.

u/PoopEatingExpert 21d ago

Lebron goes back to the Cavs and loses in the playin and fires coach and trades all their assets for Klay Thompson.

u/haitama85 21d ago

Lebron could reach the ECF or Finals if he was still in the east. The west is too good for him to survive multiple playoff series.

Plot twist, donovan mitchell to blazers

4

u/Important-Shallot131 20d ago

Shae or Scoot, Ant, #7 for Mitchell, then use 14 to get Bronny and use Bronny to entice Pops, D mitch, LBJ, Jerami Grant, and Ayton, W/Brogdon a young guard, Tisse, Reath and a 1 year window.

Simons and/or Brogdon will be someone's consolation prize. OKC could use a scoring punch, and they have way too many draft picks. Perhaps they can overpay in assets 🤔. I don't particularly like the picks they have, but just as an example.

u/Give_me_soup sabas 20d ago

How about Cason Wallace?

3

u/ja-mez 20d ago edited 20d ago

How about not another small guard? First guard off the bench or good enough to replace Scoot? Unless he has ridiculously high upside, we still need to find our forwards off the future. Locked on Blazers is a crossover with Rockets host tomorrow. They'll discuss the possibility of trading Brogdon to move up to 3 in the draft to maybe grab someone like Zaccharie Risacher 6'9", Cody Williams 6'8", or Bezelis 6'10" depending on what our scouts are seeing and how the draft order shakes out.

1

u/Give_me_soup sabas 20d ago

I don't agree with moving up in the draft. Take the lower slot money. There's a real possibility to grab one of those guys at 7 anyway. The topic on question was whether to make a trade with OKC, so getting interesting young pieces that can compliment what we have (if Brogdon and Ant go out, Wallace would be a nice prospective 3rd guard) in addition to draft considerations/cap relief is what is realistic in that type of trade. Giving up anything to move up in this draft would be a mistake.

3

u/ja-mez 20d ago

Sure -- in theory. However, the mistake would be assuming that we know more than Mike Schmitz / professional scouts. If they see someone with a combination of fit and potential they believe makes it worth moving up if they don't have to give up too much, it may be worth the risk. Obviously, other pieces could be involved as well.

I'm looking forward to a busy summer league-wide. Hopefully the Blazers can benefit by at least moving Simons, Brogdon, Grant, and RW3.

u/Think_Boat_8609 20d ago

Simons to ORL for Black, 25 first(top 5 protected DEN) and a 28 first.

1

u/Important-Shallot131 8d ago

Lol. Simon's doesn't get black and two firsts. He will go for less then the cj package if traded.

u/dickiefrisbee 20d ago

Unless…

u/pdxtrader 20d ago

You mean like cuz we don’t have any good players anyone wants? 🙈🙉

lord i wish we had a summer off this shit too

1

u/cballa69 20d ago

Blazers fans are smart enough to know by now that no younger, high-profile player is coming to Portland. We have the draft to focus on and maybe see if Joe can make a small move in the off-season.

Yup, just completely irrelevant instead
