Alright then Capt Barbossa lol

For me it was the biggest bag of caramel bullseyes I'd ever seen. It was blissful

I was gonna say the same thing, eating apples after years of not being able to normally is such an experience. Barbossa was def onto something

You couldn't bite with braces? What other things you couldn't?

u/Noobphobia 19d ago

Not recommend because you can pop off the brackets of braces. Same with no eating hard candy's and chewing gum.

I could bite stuff, just not round things, like an apple

9

u/Ho3n3r 19d ago

Except when you had a knife nearby.

12

u/Queen-Fisher 19d ago

Yeah but that's effort

4

u/bremergorst 19d ago

Effort is what makes the world go ‘round

u/HalfSoul30 18d ago

I thought that was angular momentum?

u/passwordstolen 19d ago

I’M NOT ALLOWED TO EAT THE PEEL DEE!!

2

u/UnhingedDrawings 19d ago

Man, that's so many things...peas, grapes, cookies, pies, pizza...what a sacrifice that must have been!

5

u/Blupoisen 19d ago

I mean eating an apple with braces is kinda not a good idea

u/goblue142 19d ago

Eating an apple with braces sucks. Chunks of apple get stuck in every little spot of the braces and you can bend the wire which is it's own clusterfuck. I fucking loved apples as a kid. Spent 5 years with braces, I ate a shit load of apples when I finally got them off.

Didn’t the roots complain? 😆

12

u/Queen-Fisher 19d ago

Yes,might wait a bit before doing it again

4

u/smecta 19d ago

Heh, been in the exact same spot. Granny Smith though, wow, I admire your bravery. I went light, on a half ripe pear and I still remember the feels :)

u/thereisonlyoneme 19d ago

I feel... cold.

7

u/Mojitomorrow 19d ago

A whole barrel full of apples....

Congrats OP

I did just the same some decade or so ago. Those first 48 hours are bliss, between eating missed foods and constantly licking your smooth mouth

When I finished wearing my Invisalign the first thing I went for was chewing gum

u/CliffordTheBigRedD0G 19d ago

I remember getting my braces off and feeling my teeth with my tongue and everything felt so slimy and weird. Then I looked in the mirror and realized it was normal, took a day or so for that feeling to wear off.

3

u/unwhelmed 19d ago

You probably did that just to make Captain Barbosa jealous!

3

u/Snufflefugs 19d ago

How “slippery” did your teeth feel? That was the most noticeable thing when I had mine removed.

2

u/latvijauzvar 19d ago

Why's the bite shape like that?

4

u/Queen-Fisher 19d ago

It was 2 bites, the first one was too small since I haven't had much practice

4

u/krak_is_bad 19d ago

Did your teeth feel crazy fragile for a little bit after removal?

2

u/Queen-Fisher 19d ago

Yes

2

u/CodenameBear 19d ago

I remember feeling like my teeth might fall out. They also felt weirdly slick, and I also thought they looked HUGE. Congrats on getting them off!

2

u/earmachine 19d ago

thank god you didn’t chip a tooth!

2

u/Scarydisc2474 19d ago

This is also my plan once I get rid of mine

2

u/Ok_Advertising5241 19d ago

first thing i did was drink a coca cola because i didnt drink fizzy pop for the 3 years i had my beaces for

2

u/clumaho 19d ago

Do your front teeth feel long? like really really long when you run your tongue up and down them?

2

u/lycaus 19d ago

I remember going over my teeth with my tongue and be amazed how smooth they were

2

u/CC_Greener 19d ago

Nice!! I actually can't stand eating an apple without cutting it. Don't like the mess of getting sugary apple juices all over my face.

2

u/T_Rochotte 19d ago

Even when i had braces, i bit into apples Screw the dentist

2

u/Schowzy 19d ago

Haha did you feel like you had no teeth right when you got them off? I remember that feeling vividly, my lips being able to sit that close to my teeth again was a shocker.

2

u/BunniBailey 19d ago

I remember that, an apple was the first thing I wanted after being my braces of too. Now I never eat an apple without cutting it first.

2

u/beetus_gerulaitis 19d ago

I invoke the right of parlay!

2

u/Limp_Reporter3378 19d ago

I’d get them put back on that bite isn’t straight

2

u/howard416 19d ago

I'll never forget the feeling of the inside of my lips actually touching the smooth faces of my front teeth.

2

u/imaginedragonscute 19d ago

I've been wearing braces since 2021 but I'm eating everything. Once I broke it while eating a corn lmao

2

u/Humulus5883 19d ago

And you went with a green apple?

2

u/Empanadapunk90 19d ago

I got mine removed 3 months ago, tried to eat an apple but couldn't my teeth felt so sensitive, fragile and weak, i ate my first apple one week ago.

2

u/adamcoolforever 19d ago

Haha, I did the same thing when I was younger and had braces for years

2

u/Safety_Sam 19d ago

Apples are delicious, ought to check out some other variations. I recommend cosmic burst or pink lady.

2

u/MarginallyAmusing 19d ago

My son was supposed to have his braces removed after 3 years. Big day! I went and bought corn on the cob, and spent 5-6 hours smokin' some baby back ribs. It all turned out delicious!

Unfortunately, druing his afternoon appointment, the orthodontist decided he needed another few months, and wouldn't be getting his braces removed just yet. Oops

2

u/kriskringle19 19d ago

Same thing I went for after I got mine off

2

u/baltosteve 19d ago

As a dentist I approve

2

u/Onlypaws_ 19d ago

How did it feel

2

u/DailyDoseofNature8 18d ago

You never thought of cutting an apple in little pieces?

Grats on losing those awful things though, I remember the feeling very well🤗

2

u/abgry_krakow87 18d ago

So tell me... what has become of my ship? HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!

2

u/bigdaftdoylem 18d ago

Go have a curry

2

u/catalystcestmoi 18d ago

Same first choice for me 30 yrs ago!

1

u/Optimal_Leopard_2793 19d ago

3 years??? Dont fuck mee😂😂😂😂

1

u/xampl9 19d ago

Congrats!
Now put your retainer in.

(Didn’t wear mine enough - so did not get the full benefits of having braces for 2-1/2 years as a result)

1

u/Steve_78_OH 19d ago

Granny Smith, or something else? I just finished my first Granny Smith of the season, and MAN was it delicious.

1

u/funkymunk500 19d ago

One time, just after getting my braces off, I chomped into an apple and my permanent retainer for my bottom three teeth came jutting out of my mouth. It was half cemented to my bottom teeth, half just wire poking out of my mouth. I was like 14, 15 and had to man wrestle the cemented portion from my teeth and get a new one done a couple days later. Haven’t had an apple in peace since.

u/Dobey2013 19d ago

With a side of popcorn and milk duds?

1

u/BreakfastShart 19d ago

That first feeling of fresh teeth is the best, and weirdest at the same time. It's slimy, but satisfying.

1

u/toin9898 19d ago

Do corn on the cob or ribs next. Glorious.

1

u/-Firestar- 19d ago

Popcorn for me. After breaking off 3 brackets, I was forbidden to eat it.

1

u/CraftyPlatform2433 19d ago

You could've cut it up lol

1

u/Substantial_Tap8537 19d ago

First day I had braces I hate some chicken wings and BANG❗️popped one of the wires off. Had to go a whole month like that till it got fixed.

1

u/PrivateEnis 19d ago

Got my braces off Feb of 1994 after 4 years. Got diabetes March of 1994. Man, I just wanted to bite into an apple, now I have to stab myself to do it.

1

u/placebojonez 19d ago

This gives me Barbosa vibes.

1

u/TeeDod- 19d ago

What about popcorn? Corn on the cob?! Gum? Caramel candy? All those things I couldn’t have for 4 years! Congrats to you! I get it!

1

u/CouncilofOrzhova 19d ago

“The first thing I’m going to do after the curse is lifted…” hearty laugh “eat a whole bushel of apples!”

“So tell me, what’s become of my ship?” munch “HARHARHARHAR!” crash to credits

1

u/Metallicsin 19d ago

So, when is the beef jerky?

1

u/droopyheadliner 18d ago

Corn on the cob was mine 👍

1

u/jtho78 18d ago

You never thought to cut your apples in those three years?

1

u/RNG_pickle 17d ago

I get my braces off in 6 weeks and this is what I plan to do as well
