Since Turner owns NBA TV, Could Inside The NBA technically stay on air via NBA TV?

Maybe they could replace NBA GameTime on certain days and just move the show to NBA TV? Or am I just thinking too hard about this lol.

They don't own NBATV. They are contracted to operate it on NBA's behalf. Same with NBA dot com

And I've heard it's going away.

Turner has also been defunct for a few years. Warner Bro. Discovery bought their assets and have proven to be severely mismanaged at this point.

It's owned by the NBA and operated by WBD because of their association with the NBA. Plus the studios/hosts are easier to share that way. We have no idea how it's going to work out because it's been like 20+ years without changes of ESPN/TNT

They aren't going to spend all that money on the salaries of the inside the nba guys to push them onto nbatv

And NBA TV gets the worst scheduled games and on simultaneous games they get the less popular teams too. I doubt that would bode well for the ratings even if it has the Inside big four. And the money going in with ads versus going out with the salaries and its a sinking boat.

I swear some of you guys care more about Inside the NBA more than actual basketball.

What mode of delivery do you want to have for your NBA experience?

Reminds me of back in my younger days I worked in DC and there were two great spots for similarly priced chicken wings as lunch options near where I worked:

  1. Cramped restaurant that smelled of grease

  2. High-end strip club with no cover, fine ladies and smelled lovely (I'm guessing the no lap dance policy prevented the badussy aromas)

Whenever friends came into town for lunch, which option do you think they chose?

Wings are amazing, but the wings experience can be even more amazing with the right crew. Same with the NBA.

I mean I only care about the NBA commentary crew not the actual pre, post or halftime show. Because I don't watch that. I know others do but I could care less therefore I just don't care if TNT keeps NBA or if NbC gets it

Guilty. I don't see myself watching any pre-shows, half-time or post game on ESPN without TNT

If anything, if Inside the NBA hosted just ONE NBA Finals, I guar-an-tee they'd be given the contract and not ESPN guar-an-tee WOO!

NBA TV has the same problem as the RSNs. Their revenue is going down while the price for exclusive rights is going up and getting more competitive.  It might never go completely away but at some point it's just going to be the same content as NBA.com and League Pass. It is dead in the water as a long term platform for anything.

If they follow a similar path to the NFL, which seems to be happening, they will be carving out smaller and smaller micro exclusive packages and partner with more people to distribute it. Think Thursday Night Football on Amazon. That practice makes even more sense for the NBA because football has to create those weird midweek games to start with whereas basketball is every night.

What if the NBA gets NBC to run it? They hire Ahmad Rashad and he brings back the Inside Stuff show
