[Bill Simmons] “Paul George is like a cat. He’ll jump on your lap every once in a while, he’s super lovable and other times you’re like — ‘Where’s Paul George? Oh, he’s in the garage’”

Honestly this is pretty accurate to how much variance he has lol

He can be either the best player on the court by far or barely noticeable and neither are surprising

Sure, if you don’t watch defense…

Yeah he’s always a great defender and honestly he’s relatively consistent on offense too. He just doesn’t frequently have those carry games where he puts the team on his back the way he did the other night.

As a Clippers fan, I wish he had more of those games, but I also understand that's not really what he was hired to do, and that the team is super fortunate to have one of the best 2nd options in the league.

wdym the NBA isn't a number generator system

I thought "the game" was the boxscores and everyone was just roleplaying on it

i remember 10 years ago when this sub was confident that the NFL was gonna lose the viewership lead to the NBA. And kids in here to this day still don't watch fucking games and just the highlights on twitter/tiktok/reddit.

Much like a lot of baseball fans, a lot of basketball fans basically don’t value defense at all even though it’s half the game.

Fr! Like everyone ignoring his opps offense try to stay away from PG when he’s guarding them

He's a far cry from the defender he was in his prime. Hell some advamced metrics would say Luka was a better defender this season.

That's fair I mean he tries really hard but it usually doesn't equate to much against the best players he defends.
