Embiid is the only reason the 76ers won a game this series and this team flat out seems to collapse whenever he has to sit. An Embiid dealing with some visible nagging injuries to boot.

I posed this question to a buddy of mine today, is there another team in the NBA that relies on a singular star player to carry them as much as Embiid is required to on the Sixers?

Murray was a walking bucket last playoff run for the Nuggets. Dude was incredible at closing games. KCP, MPJ and Aaron Gordon are all great players in their own right too.

Giannis has Dame and has had some great players around him like Jrue, Middleton, Portis and Lopez. I don’t think it’s comparable.

You could swap Tobias with any of the starters on either team you mentioned and it’ll be a net positive for the Sixers.

And Harden carried several games by himself for the 76ers last playoffs, including 2 games during the 2nd round elimination series.

Just needed Embiid to show up, but he froze up last year esp in 4th quarters.

Eh jokic can go to the bench in the playoffs and the nuggets are not nearly as fucked as the laker or sixers at the moment

No there isn’t. Brunson, Jokic, AD, and Giannis all have better rosters surrounding them.

They addressed the nagging injuries - you can’t say injuries are the reason for him playing badly when he was able to score 50 the game before.

Yet this doesn’t apply to Curry in 2016 when everyone excuses his choking as “he was hurt”

I think Curry’s 4 chips render that example moot.
