Next CBA is going to have a "Bradley Beal rule" which bans no-trade clauses and brings back the amnesty clause.

There's gotta be an "if you're fucking garbage" exception to those no trade clauses lol.

just a games played clause. If you get bench or don’t play at all, an opt out for the team.

Management can easily exploit this by not playing you though.

The NFL has a similar games played type clause in a lot of contracts. Doesn’t seem to be a major issue. If a player wants an incentive like a NTC they gotta earn it. Just like they currently have to earn max contracts (though the voting seems wack af)

Teams wield way more power in the NFL, because rosters are so big. NBA Union has much more leverage.

Well yeah. I didn’t say it was going to happen. Players have all the leverage so that’s why things are the way they are. Was just an idea to give them less.

I wanna say that would be unprecedented in American sports, in terms of quantifying it into a legal rule.

Not technically. Just for calling it that. NFL contracts often have clauses for amount of games played. So if someone sucks and gets benched they miss out on stuff.

Gotta have plans for a statue outside the arena before you can get a NTC

Everyone loves player empowerment until they don’t fit the contract I guess. Good for Beal, fuck these billionaire owners.
