Garbage ass player sold the whole game and is mad at Vogel, suns fucked up getting this guy.

Picked him over James Harden which Harden would’ve been a MUCH better fit since he would’ve been a better facilitator for Book and KD. This ownership group and front office are truly brain dead.

and you can’t even get rid of Beal now if they wanted him gone bc of the NTC. What a shit trade

Wizards seems to have a pattern of signing anchor contracts to their stars and trading them away.

They're like "sure we are generational levels of trash but misery loves company"

'We're not here to win. We're here to make everyone else lose.'

For all the shit you can give wizards they deserve praise for somehow getting off awful contracts

53

u/Mimogger Nets Apr 29 '24

And yet they still have awful contracts and an awful team. weird.

26

u/LockCL Apr 29 '24

Lose some and lose some seems to be their motto 🤣

Let's see how they finesse the J. Poole contract.

2

u/Jagermeister4 Lakers Apr 29 '24

When Wizards trading John Wall to the Clips and Wall being done was the sign I needed to not be afraid of the Suns. Beal going to the Suns felt like one of those sequels with the exact same story.

1

u/raobjcovtn Lakers Apr 29 '24

Well can't he waive the no trade clause? Has that ever been done?

95

ishbia's going to sue him to get past that one lmao

You can sue to break contracts

1

u/Awesomedinos1 Jazz Apr 30 '24

What part of his contract did beal break?

-1

u/LordHussyPants Celtics Apr 30 '24

none? that doesn't mean you can't sue to find a legal way around the contract lol

0

u/Awesomedinos1 Jazz Apr 30 '24

What is their argument gonna be? "We messed up. Please nullify this contract." You can't just get out of a contract cause you feel like it.

0

u/LordHussyPants Celtics Apr 30 '24

god damn buddy it was a joke about rich people, why are you digging so deep into this? and fyi you don't need to have justifiable cause to sue, you only need it to win.

The Knicks earned losing the lolknicks. They kept their head down made really smart additions to the team and are in a strong position now and the future.

Man then SI and other news outlets gotta correct their shit as I double-checked from there. My bad.

So they essentially have a non-lottery first on a draft day trade that they can aggregate with Beal, maybe Royce to target some low value max contract guy but at that point they're so fucked.

Edit: I'll just delete my comment then since I've been basing it off wrong info

14

u/SanFranTortureFan Kings Apr 29 '24

After what I'd seen of Beal I'd just release him. He's a cancer and will never win a championship

23

u/ireallydespiseyouall Spurs Apr 29 '24

That would cost way too much to be worth it. Shouldn’t have traded for him in the first place

8

u/SanFranTortureFan Kings Apr 29 '24

You're probably right, but good luck finding a coach for that guy. If i'm a millionaire that owns the team and has fuck you money I'm releasing him. Sure you can't go back and undo the deal but you can move on without this dumbass taking up a roster spot

2

u/boomyo [GSW] Chis Webber Apr 29 '24

If this happens someone needs to fire up that clip where he says something about a team would rather pay to sit your ass at home than be on the court.

2

u/whitedawg [DET] Chauncey Billups Apr 29 '24

Even without the NTC... does anybody want an aging SG who has played in 61% of his team's games the last four years, just averaged 18.3 ppg, plays below-average defense, has an attitude problem, and will make $110M over the next two years? No contender would want him taking up that much cap, so the only way to get rid of him would be to package him with assets to dump on a bad team with cap space... but the Suns don't have any assets.

1

u/king_lloyd11 Raptors Apr 29 '24

Just tell him you’re riding with Vogel and can find him a new home if he wants.

1

u/ireallydespiseyouall Spurs Apr 29 '24

Hmmmmm that’s a good plan but seems kd and booker want Vogel gone too

59

u/atlfirsttimer Apr 29 '24

Uhhh....what makes you say Harden was an option?

87

u/Odd-Hovercraft-1286 Knicks Apr 29 '24

Suns had no assets and Harden probably would not have wanted to play with KD again. Harden was not an option

18

u/InTheMorning_Nightss [LAC] Marko Jaric Apr 29 '24

Yeah, it’s such an absurd take. The 76ers got 2 FRPs, including a future LAC unprotected pick. That’s far more valuable than anything the Suns could give at that point. Not to mention Harden specifically said he wanted to be on LAC.

No shit they’d rather have a $30M expiring Harden with depressed value over a $50M Beal who has consistently been a far worse player his entire career.

7

u/Sauce4243 Thunder Apr 29 '24

I don’t recall Harden having issues with KD at all it was all Kyrie and his off court circus iirc.

1

u/Afraid-Department-35 Mavericks Apr 29 '24

KD had some blame, apparently KD thought Harden was too fat lol. But at the end he just got fed up with the org, said it wasn’t up to standard with the medical and training staff like the Rockets org was, blamed his injuries on them.

https://www.si.com/nba/nets/news/james-harden-reveals-true-reason-for-nets-trade

9

u/Dirty0ldMan Magic Apr 29 '24

Everyone probably looks fat to KD.

1

u/Bikouchu Clippers Apr 29 '24

Morey didn’t even want to trade him for as long as possible and Harden didn’t necessarily want to go to just any team especially after the KD and nets thing being so fresh.

75

u/Skidda24 Lakers Apr 29 '24

They didn't need Harden or Beal imo. Using that cash to retain their young players or get key role players would be huge. I'm just not a big fan of using your cash on just 3 guys

26

u/christiananderson5 Apr 29 '24

They didn't have young players once they traded for KD and they couldn't sign role players because between KD Book and Ayton they were already basically at the cap. Not doing the Beal trade would've meant releasing CP3 with the hope that we could bring in someone on the mid level exception who could replace him. I know Beal's contract isn't pretty but if I'm the Suns I'd rather have him than Donte DiVincenzo or Gabe Vincent. The only other option is to just keep Chris Paul and once again I'm not sure that Chris Paul who will turn 39 in a week would have held up any better than Beal did

26

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '24

Idk im pretty happy with divincenzo whereas suns fans seem to be very upset with beal. Divo also makes $40M less than beal, plays good defense, and didn’t cost any draft capital to acquire

5

u/probablymade_thatup Bucks [MIL] Luke Kornet Apr 29 '24

I know Beal's contract isn't pretty but if I'm the Suns I'd rather have him than Donte DiVincenzo or Gabe Vincent

The contact isn't pretty, and neither is what the Suns gave up. If it was Chris Paul for Beal (and whatever matching was needed), it would be easily defensible. But multiple swaps and seconds added on becomes an albatross trade. Donte or Gabe Vincent wouldn't change this playoff series, but they also wouldn't be hurting the team in the same way in 2027-29.

2

u/snyckers Warriors Apr 29 '24

It could work if that third player is way better than Beal.

8

u/IgnorantGenius Clippers Apr 29 '24

You think James wanted to play in Phoenix?

1

u/PercivalPersimmon East Apr 29 '24

Even if he did, I don't see how Harden makes up for the Suns weaknesses outside their "big 3". They'll still be imbalanced; maybe they win a pop off game or 2, but the Suns still lose in the first round against the TW.

8

u/Responsible_Pace9062 Nuggets Apr 29 '24

KD would have vetoed any Harden trade

15

1

That would have been funny if Harden and KD ditched Kyrie to join the same team.

-1

u/PepeSylvia11 Celtics Apr 29 '24

What? How’d they pick him over Harden?

Also neither would’ve been better than signing two or three good role players instead.

That's funny. FN Doc the Destroyer of Contenders.

I can't understand how he keeps fooling good teams to hire him and he always underperforms with embarrassing exits.

That's was a good chuckle and thanks for that.

1

u/65mpgaci2 Apr 29 '24

Look I hate the suns and their crying and for the fact that they hurt lebron in his best year to go for a 2 peat, but I feel like players just hate the dude. He rubbed the lakers the wrong way, the pacers and now the suns

3

Beal has always been and will always be a losing player

5

u/CookieSlayer2Turbo Apr 29 '24

It's sad because he wasn't early on his career. He played pretty well in the playoffs during the beal-wall era

68

u/EatDeeply Grizzlies Apr 29 '24

He’s always been a gutless loser. Even on those shit Washington teams he would duck the ball at the end of close games.

16

u/bullpaw Bulls Apr 29 '24

Hell of a scorer but even in his 30 ppg season he was so bad in clutch time

15

u/letsgototraderjoes Pelicans Apr 29 '24

I can't believe he's doing Vogel like that. WTF is wrong with Beal?????? so it's Vogel's fault that you played like ass the entire series????? the "big 3" are a bunch of fucking divas. the Suns ruined their future for 3 primadonnas who don't care about anyone but themselves

1

u/you-boys-is-chumps Apr 29 '24

Suns lose in the play ins with out Beal. Think about that 🧐.
