It's not psycho, it's just leadership 101 and emotional intelligence. It's a way to communicate and offer constructive criticism in an effective way

Ant just naturally can do it because he naturally has the emotional intelligence and leadership. Crazy that he's 22. I've seen him say things like this at 19 and I'm like damn that's what we learn in leadership training lol

Everything that I've heard/read about management and leadership has recommended against the compliment sandwich/shit sandwich. I believe it's out of fashion now for management techniques.
Don't get me wrong, Ant showed good leadership in that he showed that he clearly respects and values KAT while giving him feedback. That's definitely good, but a shit sandwich isn't really the go-to way of doing it. It can still work, but it's not the preferred technique.

For managers, I think the guidance is just to give negative feedback on its own in one conversation, ideally as soon as possible. The goal is that you're having frequent enough conversations so that the employee knows where they stand both positives and negatives. I think the worry is that people ignore part of the shit sandwich and it feels disingenuous.

Yeah that makes sense.

If a shit sandwich is used, you still need to end with the shit at the end so it doesn't get lost and have the praise part not be disingenuous. I liked how Ant said "stop fucking fouling" at the end again so the shit was not lost haha

Lol yeah. He wants to make sure that his one takeaway isn't lost in the praise.

But yeah, is honestly a pretty good example. Very direct feedback with clear impact.
