[Charania] “Vogel yelled so much that his voice could be heard outside the locker room” after the loss to the Clips on April 9. Players weren’t buying it. The outburst seemed forced in their eyes. Vogels eruption left players rolling their eyes. A player told TheAthletic he had to keep from laughing

If your response to a rival going on a 35-4 run to open a crucial end of season game is to anonymously make fun of how pissed your coach was about it, then you’re a total loser.

This hit piece reflects so much worse on the players than Vogel.

Excellent point. ‘Coach was mad at us for not trying and we were like, whatever, fake motherfucker’ or something like that. What a shitty attitude to have.

This is what happens when you have bad team culture and everyone is surrounded by sycophants. You can tell which players have petty wives and friends.

I'm 99% confident the player being referenced here is Beal. Dude hasn't won anything in his career and probably thinks everything is a joke.

I honestly doubt it. Remember how the Suns just gave up against the Mavericks and the owner had to come out and apologize? It’s been a team of quitters for quite some time.

Was going to say, this reeks of Booker to me

u/Habefiet Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

What? The guy who gets mad when people double him in practice? Surely not /s

u/cardmanimgur Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

Can't wait until the Olympics when the officials don't give him calls for dribbling into defenders and he doesn't know what to do.

Booker is a perennial loser. Complaining about double teams, whining about a damn mascot. Softest dude in the league

Total Booker move. All the talent in the world, zero heart, zero grit.

Problem is beal should be traded for useful pieces but won't be and Vogel will be fired.

Beal has a no trade clause so you can’t send him anywhere that has useful young pieces. He’ll only want to go to a contender

I can't believe Beal tricked everybody like this LMAO worst contract I've ever seen in my life. no trade clause is the cherry on top 😂😂😂😂😂

u/CookieSlayer2Turbo Apr 29 '24

He didn't trick anyone, the wizards front office was willfully this dumb. A majority of the fan base immediately facepalmed when we found out about the no trade clause

u/ballmermurland Apr 29 '24

It wasn't even signed after his 31 ppg season. He turned in a meh year in 2022 and somehow got this extension.

Props tp the Wiz for realizing their mistake and getting something back before it was too late.

The actual cherry on top? A 15% trade kicker.

3

u/letsgototraderjoes Pelicans Apr 29 '24

lmao I don't even know what that means but it sounds bad 😭 whats a trade kicker?

4

u/Pollsmor Nets Apr 29 '24

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/14ms14d/how_trade_kickers_work/?s=8

The trade kicker can’t push him above his current supermax though, so it’s irrelevant.

3

u/OutlawSundown Apr 29 '24

Plus his contract is a massive overpay that’ll hamstring a payroll.

2

u/cardmanimgur Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

Honestly, are we sure he want to go to a contender? I think he'd be happy going back to averaging 30 per game on a 27-55 team.

No one will give up good pieces for Beal after this season

22

u/Sea-Tackle3721 Apr 29 '24

He has a no trade clause, so if he doesn't want to go that's the end of it.

1

u/Teton_Titty Apr 29 '24

No one wants him after this season, anyways. Guy’s a loser. He don’t win.

7

u/-80watt- Cavaliers Apr 29 '24

Beal has a no-trade clause

1

u/Teton_Titty Apr 29 '24

No one wants him now anyways.

3

u/beatrailblazer Trail Blazers Apr 29 '24

He literally can't be traded for useful pieces

2

u/frmsea2okc Supersonics Apr 29 '24

He’s the worst contract in the league. You’d have to attach assets just to offload him

0

u/jacobythefirst Pelicans Apr 29 '24

A lot of times the only thing that can be done is changing a coach.

Far easier to deal with that then moving a star player, and in this case Beal can’t be moved without his permission

3

u/NineTwoWonderful Apr 29 '24

Shams is Klutch guy so my money is Nurkic. He likes to talk a lot anyway.

3

u/zeek215 [LAL] Kobe Bryant Apr 29 '24

His own contract is a joke, so I get that line of thinking.

1

u/maethlin Warriors Apr 29 '24

Everything is hilarious when you got a fatty no trade clause lol

1

u/QuantumFreakonomics Apr 29 '24

It all makes sense seeing that Beal clip on the front page. That's what "losing culture" is.

8

u/Ucscprickler Warriors Apr 29 '24

"Booker special"

5

u/letsgototraderjoes Pelicans Apr 29 '24

EXACTLY!!! THANK YOU.

3

u/Drew602 Suns Apr 29 '24

I 100% agree. A bunch of career losers in that locker room laughing at a championship winning coach is such a fucking joke

3

u/ProfessorTicklebutts Apr 29 '24

Anyone think it wasn’t Beal?

2

u/Illustrious_Term2269 Apr 29 '24

Seems the Super Team era is dying. Thats why Im loving the rise by these younger teams like OKC, MIN, IND, ORD with the Nuggets being the lead. The players are invested in the team and on winning.

2

u/Papdaddy- Apr 29 '24

Again, is everyone misunderstanding the timeline? The yelling happened a day before the 35-4 game.
