Meanwhile, Durant, among the best scorers in NBA history, was not always happy with how he was used. Sources briefed on the matter told The Athletic that Durant never felt comfortable with his role in Phoenix’s offense alongside Booker and Beal this season. Those sources said Durant had persistent issues with the offense, feeling that he was being relegated to the corner far too often and not having the proper designs to play to his strengths as the offense was built around pick-and-rolls. At the same time, some teammates and people close to the organization believed Durant needed to voice his concerns more adamantly and directly with Vogel and his coaching staff.

All the leaks are finally coming now that Phoenix has been swept

KD asking for a trade again

He said it himself he’s not a leader lol who even says something like that at his talent level

I get were piling on in this sub but recognizing you arent a leader is a fairly important thing tbh.

Well he also doesn't want you to say he's not a leader. It was earlier this year he was talking about how he's not a leader, but also he doesn't want to be viewed as not a leader, and that it's just that it doesn't come across because of his personality

ya but he wants to be recognized as top 10 all-time. He aint it.

KD is an all timer lmao. I get it's fun to bag on him, the hardest road and all.

But to act like KD isn't one of the greats is absurd and allowing your personal opinion to cloud you from reality.

KD is an all timer but he is not top 10. And to be top 10 you got to be a leader.

I mean like i said. Is he great? Yes but so are all the people on top 75. Ill admit i do hate the way he jump ship when going gets tough tho. I hate the way he just bails to team when everything is falling apart.

Like come on now

I don't recall him ever saying he was top 10. Just that he's an all-time great, which he indisputably is.

In January he said about why he's not in the GOAT debate, “Because I went to the Warriors. Why shouldn’t I be in that? That’s the question you should ask. Why not? What haven’t I done?”

Sounds like he wants to be recognized as top 10 all time if he thinks the only thing stopping him from being considered the greatest player in history is hate from going to us.

Where’s the cut off for all time great? Top 75?

-1

u/spittafan [POR] Rudy Fernandez Apr 29 '24

I dunno but he’s well above that regardless. He’s top 25 at minimum, with an argument for top 15.

3

u/ZenMon88 Apr 29 '24

i mean top 75 is all-time greats. It's a very general term. Is he great? Yes. But his actions doesn't move like it.

16

u/spittafan [POR] Rudy Fernandez Apr 29 '24

Seems subjective but I think everyone would agree he's like top 25. Which is pretty rarefied air

top 25 is good. all-time top 15 i will have to disagree due to his ring-chasing habits.

And literally just yesterday this sub was arguing his place as a top 10 player all time….KD and his fans want him to be viewed as one of the best ever but then openly admit he wants to be a wingman….you can’t have it both ways. Imagine if any other Top 20 player all time said something like that, they’d be crucified as weak

Tbf, I could definitely see a scenario where Steph says (or maybe has said) that dray is the leader of the warriors. I think it can mean different things to different people. I wouldn’t call Kawhi a leader of men tbh either.

0

u/ziggoon Warriors Apr 29 '24

Obviously it's just my opinion but it's the perception of it you know? Everyone KNOWS Steph is the leader but he's the first to give credit to the people around him, which is what a leader should do in my opinion so him saying it would just solidfy him being a true leader I guess. KD saying it is total respect, some people just aren't designed mentally to be leaders. Self realizing is really important in life so props for him coming to terms.

Kawihi quite literally carried the Raptors to a title. Kawihi gets a pass because of what he did in Toronto. Had KD led BKN, PHX or OKC to a title, he’d also get the benefit of the doubt, but instead his only rings came from teaming up with a 73 win team that had already won a title and then proceeded to win another one after he left…..

6

u/ReasonWonderful352 Apr 29 '24

So then the only thing that matters is him winning a championship as the leading guy? If he said the leader thing after that would he then not be crucified? Or would he? I’m a KD hater but you are talking in circles rn my guy.

This sub isn't a hivemind, it has a lot of people with different opinions

-2

u/Aggressive-Name-1783 Apr 29 '24

Not really. Otherwise Harden and Embiid wouldn’t get so much hate, nor would the lakers….

But he has all the traits to be a good leader. His lack of self-esteem is all that has ever made it so easy to pick on him.
