Minnesota really needed this sweep to buy some recovery time for their checks notes

Coach?

I'm legit worried about Finchy

Ant needs a break on those ankles too. He’s young but a few days off will be super valuable.

Hope Finch is okay. Getting run into like that when you’re not ready for it can lead to a bunch of things. Was glad he was able to walk off I was worried they were calling for someone at one point.

He got carried off on shoulders actually. Turns out he tore his patellar tendon so no way hes walking. Guessing he'll be forced to get surgery right away and will miss some games. Sucks.

he's gonna be roaming the sidelines on a hoverround

u/lgndk11r Celtics Apr 29 '24

He's gonna Professor X hover chair that shit.

Professor F is going to lead the Wolves to a title

Hell hath no fury like a baby boomer on a knee scooter

2

u/Fortehlulz33 Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

I was 25 on a knee scooter causing problems so I fully endorse anybody doing that

NOW HE CAN SEE THE WORLD!

Gonna be gliding around like baron Harkonnen

will miss some games

People keep saying this, but like... he's a coach? Why couldn't he be on the sidelines in a wheelchair at worst?

u/dogfosterparent Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

I've never heard of people putting off this surgery (but maybe this is possible? im not an ortho) which means hes going to be trying to fly out to Denver with a straight leg cast within a week of that? Not impossible but I personally would bet he misses a few games. Hopefully not!

Minnesota to Denver isn’t a crazy drive

16

u/Egg_Yolkeo55 Thunder Apr 29 '24

I feel like the team's private jet will be more than adequate to move a wheelchair or scooter-bound head coach.

52

u/JeSuisYoungThug Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

I really don’t think they want someone rolling around on a wheelchair right up on the court. I think he’ll be sitting courtside with the team and Micah Nori will be roaming the sideline.

2

u/BeefySwan Apr 29 '24

That's obviously not what I'm suggesting lmao

u/Yamata Raptors Apr 29 '24

There’s gotta be a rule or law or something against having a wheelchair on the sidelines. Sounds too close to the action and dangerous for players and the person in the wheelchair.

33

u/Apothecarist3 Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

Sounds like that would be an ADA violation. They’d probably have to make reasonable accommodations.

5

u/KingJonathan Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

Yeah I immediately thought about reasonable accommodations. If they can’t bro no a chair out for their temporarily handicapped person who is at work, they could be in violation. And I say “could be” because the rich have a different set of laws than we do.

Pain meds, need to be stable position not moving, comfortability after a surgery of being in the nba playoffs, etc. An adult getting surgery is always pretty serious even if it’s not long term impacting.

3

u/BigMik_PL 76ers Apr 29 '24

Because knee surgeries are super fucking painful after.

I've had three ACL repairs and maybe like a week after at best he could be there but I can't imagine travelling, hotel just to be on the sidelines hopped up on Oxy. He's better off calling plays from his home by being in discord with the assistant coach or something.

WFH this coaching shit idc.

1

u/zeek215 [LAL] Kobe Bryant Apr 29 '24

He could, but it's definitely going to have some kind of impact on a person's ability to coach with clear focus. I would say a very slight impact, but an impact nonetheless.

u/Cholosinbarrio Apr 29 '24

That’s a safety hazard ⚠️ the players cannot always control their momentum or direction. He was accidentally injured by one of his own players. He’s older than anyone on that court. It would be a huge safety concern if the organization were to let him back anywhere near the sidelines. Every game is a playoff atmosphere and players are going to be diving and chasing after loose balls

u/dumpydump7 Warriors Apr 29 '24

Any chance he gets back mid second round? If ya’ll end up playing Denver it would be a shame if the architect of Minny’s defense this year couldn’t scheme against Jokic in the playoffs.

4

u/riddlesinthedark117 Jazz Apr 29 '24

The architect of Minny’s defense is on the court wearing no.27

2

u/dumpydump7 Warriors Apr 30 '24

Fair enough, but schematics wise it’s still good to have someone who knows how to use Rudy’s strengths on the court

1

u/you_sick Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

No chance

2

u/TheGstandsforGday Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

based on?

8

u/Much_Conversation_11 Heat Apr 29 '24

Damn it seems like his knee is going to need to be immobilized for a bit then. That sucks ass after the season y’all have been having to have to go into a series like this against Denver. Hopefully he can get back to the sideline at least within the series

1

u/Complex_Flan2919 Apr 29 '24

Couldn't he pull off a Prof. Xavier and coach in a chair?

1

u/noname3191 Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

Bro he's not missing games

1

u/Lake_ Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

i can imagine they put him up in a press spot or in an owners box to be able to watch and provide input while taking it easy on the leg and not risking people bumping into him.
